View Full Version : I wanted to share my dream with you guys
I've been away for sometime because I'm in the military. In the military you do a lot of thinking,a lot of planing for the future.I want to invest in Martial Arts and here's my dream/idea.I wanted to share this with you guys because you are all true Muay Thai and martial fans.Any advices or new ideas from you will be highly appreciated.
I want to open a gym in a nice and expensive neighbourhood in Istanbul(It looks like I've even found a sponsor/partner).There will not be body-building(weights and so on).
There will be Muay Thai,Tode Ryu,Gracie Jiu-Jitsu,Kenjutsu,boxing and if found a great instructor perhaps Ninjutsu.I will also add pilates, gyrotonic, massage and yoga lessons so that the people who study martial arts will have the perfect athletic and flexible body.I want to earn money and also give the the people their money's worth.I want to make a difference and hopefully raise good fighters from my country.
I wrote everything really brief of course, but I just had to share this with you guys :)

Hey, I give a **** too!
Keep us informed how it goes, maybe there's a $ there in that concept.
There is only one problem I hope you can overcome and it is the 'jack of all trades, master of none' concept where gyms try to specialise in everything and don't devote themselves to anything specific and as such don't create champions in any specific field.
Does anyone agree with that?

I was going to say the same thing Dazmon.
But if all he is really looking to do is make money, then go for the jack of all trades. Otherwise if your looking to create champions, stick to one or two things.

Actually I agree with you guys %100 but one can't be too idealist if we want to make money.
We have gathered a few hours ago and decided that we will skip boxing and ninjutsu. We will stick with Muay Thai,Tode Ryu and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.The problem is finding a good and suitable place in a good location.I'm still searching.

all the best.
But if it were up to me, Ninjitsu an Muay Thai.
Who dosent want to do Thai-Jitsu.
The reason that we've skipped Ninjutsu and boxing is because there really isn't any good Ninjutsu instructors available here, there is only one and has his own dojo and the people who want to practice boxing will have to satisfy themselves with Muay Thai.
But we really have good Muay Thai,Tode-Ryu and Jiu-Jitsu instructors. As you see we will invest on only good and dependable instructors.I don't want to mock with people.
Thank you very much for your wishes, commenst and advices,I appreciate it.

best of luck xXx.
Why would you not have a boxing guy there? As much as boxing/muay thai comes into conflict sometimes, there is no doubting good hands are very important in a ring fighters (well anyones for that matter) arsenal, and should compliment the other muay thai techniques.
But I guess if there arent any good trainers around who know how to teach good technique to get max. power, then you are better off without, compared to owning a mcdojo

i agree with DazMon...
if ya want to make champions in one sport... try and have more classes for that style.. and alos try find some qaulity fighters...and trainers... in the style so the have experince in and out the ring to help and school the boys or gurls who want to fight and become the next big thing...
