G'day all.im new to the sport and have been doing it for about a month and a half, but its not at a proper gym its more like a class.
yeah anyway the reason i started this post is, the area that i live in is about an hour and a half away from melbourne and theres no muay thai gym thats close to me so i was wondering wat extra training can i do.cos in a few yrs down the track i wouldn't mind getting in the ring. thanks heaps jay

hmm id definately hav 2 say fitness fitness fitness!!! whatever skills ur gym/class offers u, they are no good to u if u cant use them wifout gettin tired.. running is a really good way 2 go, if u can get a hold of a good skipping rope that is good aswell and then just ur general things to keep ur body in shape.. pushups, sit ups etc. but in sayin that every gym has different perspectives on what they wuld like u to do and how it ties in with how they train u so it wuld b good to keep that in mind..

hi Jay,
living so far away from the city can be a nightmare for training thats for sure. and unfortunately it will be very difficult to develop as a fighter outside of a fighters gym.
Matty Reid suffers the same situation as he lives in Shepperton. 2 1/2 hrs away from melb. but as a seriously committed fighter he makes the journey twice a week to come to my gym in melbourne to prep for his fights. then drives home again afterwards. thats committment huh... 5 hrs driving just to get a pad holder and some variety in his sparring partners.
if you find that you love the sport so much, and you really want to fight, you'll find a way...

Jabba, so I take it you train at a KB gym at the moment then? If you let us know where your from, we could point you in the right direction..
