Osu woodchip...
Mate..We Wish! They are only rumours at the moment but as you know with the fight game, anything is possible. If anything comes our way. i will let you all know asap! Maybe things might happen who knows as Mundine does not know much about John and hey that may swing some interest our way. But we can only dream eh,, hang on i just have to wipe the drool from Johns mouth, as he would love to get it on with Choc, Comiz to Ricky Thurnberry but he just didnt have the power and stamina & killer instincts which we all know John has abundance of!
Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark thanks for the update maybe you could check the forum in the www.worldofboxing.com.au and have your say cause I agree with you as I think John would have a good account of himself against the Man.Cheers

Osu cyb5,
John is over his Glandular fever. he has used the time since his KB4 bouts to rest and recover, so at the moment all is well. John is about to venture to Thailand again with a couple of TFA fighters to learn / gain / train with the Thais as he stated that his last trip to Thailand was a real eye opener for the TFA boys.
John held his latest Toughman competition last friday night in Dubbo ( where he owns the new Dominos ] with 4 fighter from the TFA competing and 3 out of 4 winning their bouts so we / he is very pleased with their efforts. a packed crowed turned up and certainly were entertained. A really well run show with no problems was the order of the night.
John and the TFA team have organised quite a few Toughman nights over the last 24 months... one of the reasons he puts them on as opposed to traditional Kickboxing nights is the freedom he has to run and control all that may happen. The drama's that can be encountered when a Kickboxing night is organised can really piss people off as with the sanctioning bodies, NSW Boxing officials, moneies and the like can really put a damper on his control of all aspects of the promo, we still give the fighters a chance to put on the gloves and fight without anyone interfearing. His boys are steadily gaining expierence in their fighting and some of the novice fighters seem to find it easier to compete at the early stage of their carrers in this style of format as opposed to the Club type atmosphere where the hype can really get to some fighters.
On John personally, his main deep desire is to Kickbox Gurkan, as the last fight with him left a ash taste in his mouth, because he would have much rather Kickboxed him instead of boxing, but hey who knows what will happen in 2003.
It is a pity that Johns name is not coming up in the K max or middleweight super 8's, with the likes of Dawson, Behic, Cope, Chopper etc getting all of the attention, we all know that John is up their with them thats for sure, but its weird that he is not one of the first from NSW to be asked to compete in them. John is not intimidated by any of them, this statement is not directed at anyone in perticular as we / he feels that he would defeat them all, but we will see if he gets the chance. We all know that when John turns up to fight, he is a real force to be reckoned with, so i hope that his name gets a mention when the final super 8 type formats are matched. he has beaten some top names over the last few years and their are a few more that he would like to add to the list!
Cheers. and John thanks you for your support.
Osu

Mark
osu mark,
thanks for the reply.
Totally agree with you about it being a pity that Johns name is not coming up in the K max or middleweight super 8's. would be aweosme to see, john up against those fighters you mentioned.
It would be great to see more of john, but i guess it is hard to balance trainging, fighting, running a business, etc.
He is such a marketable fighter and a great guy, always excites me to watch him fight.
any word on a tittle defence?
When i first learnt of john and the guys first trip to thailand, it suprised me a little. Muay thai wasnt something i was really expecting of john and tfa, all though you personally have fought under thai rules i think ?
But it obvioulsy was a good thing with all 3 of the guys winning over there, and making themselves stornger and technique sharper.
john vs gurkan under kickboxing rules is something i am dying to see,
hopefully we will get our appetites filled soon.
Does john have any plans to fight under thai rules in australia? or k1 rules, im sure that those Kyokushin knees are very lethal, and the added thai training. :)
Being a brief tfa student (moved to sydney) i love the websites you have made for john, ashley and your self, keep those updates with news, photos etc coming :) especially of thailand, im so jealous. :)
i hope to make it back to tamworth in decmember, so hopefully i have a chance to drop by the tfa gym.
I reckon tamworth is ready for a ring karate tournament too, or maybe some fights on a toughman night, what do you think? :)
also whats ashleys next step? was great to see him win the tittle, very cool moment when he jumped out of the ring and hugged prince amir after the fight, i was right behind prince amir.
must be agreat thrill for oyu personally to see the great things john has achieved, and the amount of talneted fighters you and him have produce, well done.
Are you still training ?
sorry for all the questions.
once again thanks for your time.

Osu cyb5,
John finds it hard to get matched, even when his Title is on offer, very weird! Normally guys would get challenged left right & centre, but John finds that this is not always the case. So a title defense is offered to anyone who is interested.
John has fought under Thai rules here before but he did not get much coverage of his Thai bouts, one of them being Warren Ellison under Thai rules which John won. [ A very tough encounter, just like the 2nd bout with Warren ).
I am just about to upload the latest version of the TFA site for John, Thanks for the comments on the current one, but after discussions with John i have decided to re-do the site in the TFA colours [ Blue & Silver / Grey / White ] plus their are a few bits and pieces that i would like to alter / edit etc. so check back to Johns site in the next week and you will find a completly new stye [ Very nice if i do say so myself !]
We would absoloutly love to put on a Ring Karate show here, i will discuss this with John and see what may come about.
I am not sure what Ashley is up to, he does not actually live in Tamworth and comes across from Guyra to train with us, but he is due to come across soon so i will have a chat with him about his future etc.
I am very fortunate to not only know & train John, Michael & part of the TFA Team but it is a thrill to be associated with them and also with their ups and downs. We are a very tight team and being out of the Metro loop may contribute to our attitudes to competing.
Personally i am at the age where the new generation is blazing its own trail, but geeez the competitive fires are still burning, my fear is i will still be feeling like this when i am 60!
I actually do compete, but it is in Triathlons and Adventure racing, i average about 50 kms roadwork and 120 kms per week on the Mountain Bike, plus about 800 metres 3 time per week in the pool combined with Aztag and other sports etc.
No probs about the questions as that is exactly why we post eh!
