View Full Version : CARS You drive, are they really an extention?

LOL, going on from the pictures thread where a debate (silly one at that) has emerged regarding certain aspects of the male anatomy and the cars we drive, I thought It would be fun to share some pics or even tell everyone what you drive.

Being fighters one would think because we are tough guys or gals we drive equivalently tough cars.

Personally I love the V8 muscle car era anything pre 81 to 60s. Thank God my wife is the same. Accordingly the family car is an 81 XD fairmont ghia in mint condition, although I love XA and XB coupes. The Xd will get all the donor running gear from an xf I have which is stroked 10 378 cubic inches.

SO go, on tell us what you drive or post a pic.

Good thread Humble the pictures thread was getting a little off topic!

I dont think of cars like that, I think they are more a reflection of personality.

Most people think that my car a 89 Jaguar XJS 5.3lt V12 is not a chicks car and that two exhaust pipes and 5.3 litres of engine is far to big for a girl .
But I love it, although its still not quite fast enough...

Mad hatter, Yeh i do think cars are a reflection of our personalities in a way.

Nothing better than seeing a girl give it to some guys with cubic inches under her bonnet.

With all the weight you've dropped, you'd better downsize to a pee wee 50..

Me, a 4wd, cos I need to show off my "size", cos the car makes the man....apparantly..but it's only a little 4wd..

In no order, used to have a HQ panel van, 4 on the floor and fats all round , a GTR Torana.....that was my toy..a HG ute, a mid life crisis with 3 Toyota Cressida's (yeah I'll put my hand up it was me..), a Holden Camira, numerous company cars, Falcons, Commodores, my last car b4 the 4wd was a Statesman Caprice...

DazMon,

Do you have any enemies? With your cars it’s probably the number plate, it’s too obvious for people. I recon it’s probably the guy who call himself same.same on this bulletin? The bloody idiot was giving George, you and I a hard time. It is so childish and immature for people to behave like that. I extremely disappointed when these things happen.

When I use to live in Springvale my car get broken into all the time, but my tires have never been slashed. If your car got broken into I would understand that it’s probably a junky trying to get some lose change. All I can say don’t worry, I have to put up with a lot sh!t every time I start promoting show. I guess when people become so passionate about their sport, they take it too personally.

They can try slashing my elephant car, but be warn this car fight back. Lol.

Ahh what a beast Mad Max's car was...in the eyes of a kid growing up anyway. Who could ever forget the whine of that blower and when he used to turn it on with a flick of a switch on the shifter to get away from all those goons chasing him.

I guess I owe the movie something, even though the blower was fake, I still think and blower hanging out of the bonnet is the ultimate, and that's coming from a 4cyl turbo owner.

The Interceptors were the Blue and Yellow XB's used by the cops in Mad Max.

promoboss
08-11-2005, 05:05 PM
there are 2 types of blowers ; 1 uses an automatic clutch type system which is loved by the rta & other types.
2 is the manual type as portayed in the movie this is manually actived at a set rev range not to stuff your engine up and flush away all your hard spent $$$$$$$$$.
The first type have the new style which is the full under bonnet 1's like holden use now an off beat type of turbo style build which is kept out of sight from the bluies.
2nd type is just a fuel drinker not very economical on the street had on on a hq once many years ago @ top speed fuel went at 3.5l to 1km not real good on the hip pocket.
If you want more info get in touch with harls he is the man about cars.

Humble, apologies! I judged you by your "2 litre slogan"

DC Sorry mate I was going off old info from street machine days.
But I do know that the original has been rebuilt with one that works.
"When do I start making boost?
The amount of boost and the RPM at which boost starts is controlled by the throttle, blower size and drive ratio, engine size, camshaft profile, and exhaust system. All of these factors determine the breathing capability of the blown engine. Boost should only be measured at wide open throttle at 6,000 RPM. If there is only part throttle, the blower cannot get enough air to overcome the demands of the engine. Only when the blower can get enough air will there be boost.taken from bds website
