Last night Michael Siebert defeated Tama Tahuna in the main event of "The Last Stand" promotion in the Northern Territory. Michaels performance was astounding sending Tama to the floor with a vicious right hand in the first few seconds of the fight. Within a minute or two of the first round Michael ended the fight with another vicious right hand followed with a flurry of punches. This was Michaels Seiberts last fight of his career bringing his fight record to 16 wins, no losses.

Ben Steele also made his return to the ring after a two year layoff due to injury. Ben took his opponent Mouhammed Eddine apart during his six round fight, winning his fight in pure style.

nice work michael

Max Power, he's the man who's name you'd love to touch. But you mustn't touch! His name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it you mustn't fear! Cause his name can be said by anyone

Just curious . Michaels record is unblemmised and his knockout to win ratio is astounding. Why is he going to retire...? If Michael sees this post then it'd be great if he could reply...Cheers

Michael's reitirng because he's got a family to think about, he wants to focus on running Perofmrnace Gym more and becuase no one wants to fight him. Tama and Michael are good mates and Tama came from QLD so Michael could have his fight.

Also guys, promote Tama cause he's a good bloke who need to get his name out.

We'll miss you Michael

Congrats on the win, but are you sure no one wants to fight him?

Theres graham, sting, chrisopolidis off the top of my head who i know wouldnt turn down a challenge.

I can understand the family issue though.

Dont mistake my harshness for strength and neither mistake my kindness for weakness.

I just want to congratulate Mick on his win and wish him the best on his retirement from fighting. I will ad as well, that I think he has alot to offer the sport in the super heavyweight division, so wish you wouldn't retire either - but decisions are made. Plus, plenty of people come out of retirement!

Thanks for bringing me and Tama up (from Sydney, Darwin Brawler), sorry I had to fly back early - you are probably still partying now. See you in November down here hopefully, at my show.

Mick can you pass on our thanks to Carl, for looking after us again in Darwin.

@ jabout: no worries man, Mike asked everyone to promote Tama, and after the effort he put in he deserves to get know, i only wish hed managed to last longer, but it was bad luck I guess. BTW, Jason, ur Tama's manager right? tell him he put on a good show for us please.

Looking forward to the next event for sure.

mick siebert and retirement...same old same old.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
He will be back.

And I'd love to see him fight main event on JNI's first 2006 show against someone like Jason Suttie or Ricardo.

And maybe bring a few of his boys down for a little interstate melee.

hi guys,
it was a quick fight, not what i expected but a win is a win. the reason i am retiring is that i know what it takes to get to the next level and there arent many options for me up here is take me there.

the rest of the night was realy good.
ben steel fought mouhammed Eddine, which i was lucky to get as i was looking for an oppoinent with 9 days to go for Ben when Adam Baily Dogged the fight (some lame excuse). the crowd love it especially when Mouhammed was cut from a few accidental head clash from both fighters. should the fight have been stopped? maybe, Matbe not, but with Scoot Bannon as the guest referee what do you think? the fight goes on. Ben still had a little ring rust, but was all class 2 1/2 years out of the ring. Darwin would love to have him back.

the other main fight was between local boy and Murry Bradbury and Grant Turner from Fite n Fitness in wyong. Grant fought with great class stepping up against a much more experienced fighter. Grant was aunnced (still punchy) the winner, but after a recount it was a draw. there is no question in my eyes and from the reaction of the crowd Grant was robbed.

thanks for all your support.

donny,
you tell me. i get a email saying that he has a new job in adelaide and couln't make the fight. so i said that i would pay the extra money and fly him in from adelaide instead of melbourne. i tried to make the best of a bad situation. then they said that he would not be able to train for the fight as his trainer was in melbourne (we had 7 days to go). i said that the training should have already been done. then i asked if i should even bother trying and if he wanted to fight at all. the answer from the camp was dont bother he will not fight. he doesent fill he was ready, or some thing like that. DOG.
there only soluton to this was. you still have a week to go, you should be able to get a replacement...
on top of this i lost the tickets that i had booked $1500.00. so be aware of DOGS.

As for Tama, i would like to say that i hold alot repect for him and he is a very good fighter. alot of people put sh*t on him then why is it hard to get him fights? at least he steps up to the plate every time.

I am glad that the show went well for you Mick because as you are aware, our camp was gravely sorry about the late pull out. I am so please that Ben found an opponent and proved to live up to his reputation regardless of his time out.

It is true, Adam Bailey was shipped to Adelaide for work with 48 hours notice- unfortunately, this put him out of the running and was completely unforeseen from any of the parties involved.

For those promoters who deal with us, they know that this is not a situation that our camp is known for. We always try and assist and find replacements and often are called upon to replace other late pullouts. In this particular situation, no-one in our camp had the ability to jump in. Unfortunately for the promoter, the safety of our fighters had to come first and we could not compromise our management of the boys by putting someone in to get smashed just to match a fight.

No winners in this circumstance and I hope that Mick accepts our sincerest apologies in this matter.

I remember Bailey pulled out of a fight in July in Canberra (giving less then one days notice). He was booked as the main event. Umhhh....

like i said maybe we can list these people and if we are a little concerned we can maybe find different fighters to put on.
one the other hand there are many reasons that fighters pull out or are unable to fight. i am not haveing a go at these people. there are always injuries and other things. one of my fighters from my own gym had to pull out of the show because he had ross river fever. so i would like to state once again it is only the fighters that bail for poor excusses
