Genki Sudo is a great showman

the word 'genki' is a type of slang for feel well / good in japanese

most people from Osaka prefecture in Japan will reply 'genki' when you ask how are they

" oh genki desu ka?" means how are you in japanese

Shishido fights at about 10 lbs lighter than the K-1 Max limit. If he were fighting other top guys around his weight, he would be fighting Otsuki, Kobayashi, Shiratori, and Samkor Kiatmontep (Before Samkor recently moved up in weight).

I guess it would be 63 or 64 kg?

My top 10 for Japanese kickboxers in the K-1 Max weight range would be:

1. Masato
2. Yoshihiro Sato
3. Takayuki Kohiruimaki
4. Kenichi Ogata
5. Kozo Takeda
6. Kazuya Yasuhiro
7. Takehiro Murahama
8. Akiomi Nitta
9. Yuya Yamamoto
10. Hayato or Kojiro

Honorable mentions would go out to: Hiroyuki Doi, Ryuji Goto, Toshiyuki Kinami, and Takahito Shimizu.

I probably should have Doi & Goto ranked higher.

TOMO and Toshio Matsumoto have too much trouble making weight for that limit, and Genki Sudo & Norifumi Yamamoto I didn't put in there due to them focusing more on MMA than kickboxing, as MMA is their true forte........I probably should've left Murahama out also, in that case, since he juggles between 3 sports, but I'll leave him in as he seems to compete in each Japan GP so far.

I also question my ranking of Kozo, since he's naturally smaller than what he's fighting at in K-1 Max, and he is also past his prime, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the fighters I ranked beneath him end up beating him if they fought, but I'll leave it as-is.
