Question for the Sniper:
We are a week out from your fight on Sunday. How about you run us through your preparation for the past couple weeks and what you will be doing over the next few days.
Yep, serious question for a change, maybe good info for some of the younger guys coming through.

i took it off purely as respect for the gym. of course it did not share any insight to what is involved in the lead up training to a fight and is purely what i and i only do with a week to go but still i am a bulldog now and think they deserve the courtesy and repect of not having any genaralisations made about the gym as a whole.

Snip is going to be coming in at 77kgs, which i reckon is a bit light for him but unlike previously he has been sitting around 78-79 during training so not a problem. I think his newfound training regime has helped reduce the effects of his staple diet of KFC and Krispy Kremes.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
He certainly is fired up for this fight, no excuses.

Shiv,
were you at the EntCent back around 1990 when greats like LLP, George the animal Steele, Ricky the dragon Steamboat, Junkyard Dog and Paul 'Mr Wonderful' Orndorf graced the shores of Sydney?
If you really want to go back to old times, I spent a childhood of Saturday mornings watching the likes of Killer Carl Cox, King Curtis, Ron Miller, Larry O'dey, Pat Barret (remember the Shahaley Twist, where he 'dislocates' the knee, then nicely puts it back after his victory) and Adbul the Butcher.
Ah, thems was the days...

Hey Snip
YES we will be there live on Sunday night!
Oh guys, dont get me started on wrestling... Voice I interviewed JYD (Junkyard Dog) when I was a 16 year old... I'll never forget him, me and the legendary Mario Milano in his hotel room at the Hilton... JYD was a legend, may he rest in peace.
My FAVOURITE wrestler was The Ravishing One, Rick Rude and his finishing move 'The Rude Awakening'... when he defeated The Ultimate Warrior for the Intercontinental Belt with the aid of the Weasel Bobby The Brain Heenan (who held Warrior's foot while Rude scored the pin) it was awesome!
I grew up watching wrestling too Voice, but I'm only 30, so my start was in 1985 with WrestleMania I (Hogan and Mr T with enforcer Jimmy Snuka vs Roddy Piper and Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff with enforcer Cowboy Bob Orton was the main event).
Man, even now I love to go to the video library and hire out all the old Wrestlemania's, Survivor Series, Royal Rumbles, etc... and I still reckon Andre pinned Hogan some 30 seconds into their bout a WrestleMania 3!
Anyway... hey John Cav... my nonno loved Jack Little... but before my time, I grew up idolising the commentary of Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse The Body Ventura, and then Vince MacMahon who I reckon was a great commentator.
Oh... the memories...
My ALL TIME 10 FAVOURITE WRESTLING FINISHES
10. The Million Dollar Dream -- Ted "Million Dollar Man" Dibiase
9. Shake, Rattle and Roll -- Honky Tonk Man
8. The Scorpion Deathlock -- Sting (also Bret Hart)
7. The Splash -- King Kong Bundy
6. The Jackhammer -- Goldberg
5. The Camel Clutch -- The Iron Shiek
4. Goodnight Irene -- Adorable Adrian Adonis
3. The Tombstone Piledriver -- The Undertaker
2. The DDT -- Jake The Snake Roberts
1. The Rude Awakening -- Rick Rude

Fark Snip...
The Brtish Bulldogs with their mascot, Matilda... Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid... RIP Dynamite Kid.
The Blue Blazer was, of course, Owen Hart... another RIP.
The Rockers... Shawn Michaels (still going!) and Marty Janetti. Great get-ups in their black and fluoro!
The `Killer Bees were Bee Brian Blair and Jumping Jim Brunzell (I think, cant remember)
Also, who can forget the tag team of Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Shiek; or Tito Santana and Rick Martel (The Pan Am Connection); or the BEST tag team of all, Axe and Smash, DEMOLITION!
And the Hart Foundation: Brett "Hitman" Hart, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart with his megaphone.
As for favourite managers:
1. Mr Fuji (the Fiendish One)
2. Bobby The Brain Heenan (The Weasel)
3. Jimmy Hart (The Mouth of the South)
4. Slick (Master of Style)
5. Miss Elizabeth (yum!!)
6. Jim Cornett
7. Virgil (well, he was more DiBiase's bodyguard)
8. Classy Freddy Blasse
Favourite quote: Bobby Heenna before Wrestlemania II and Hogan vs Bundy cage match: "Forget Hulkamania, Hulkamania will die, it'll be dead, and there will be Bundy-mania everywhere."
Yeah, not the same any more :( John Cena and Battista just don't stack up to Andre The Giant and The Big Boss Man.

Shiv,
it'll never be the same...those 90s legends were what it was all about. The Hillbillys, Mr Wonderful with the original piledriver and of course my all time fav, King Kong Bundy, unbeatable with the Splash!
The Rock was great, and he did a great episode of Star Trek- Voyager, and his own Conan-type movie but those earlier guys had a certain originality just likt Stan the Man does with kickboxing!
and btw, Miss Elizabeth, no more! RIP

Wow, yeah, I forgot that Miss Elizabeth died... :(... who didn't love her when growing up. Man, when her and Macho Man reconciled in centre ring, after Macho Man ditched that God-awful Queen-something and then Macho's music "Land of Pomp and Glory" struck up (I think it was at Summerslam) that was just awesome.
King Kong Bundy -- what a legend... rumour had it when I was in Year 8 that Bundy had died of a heart attack, but no, Bundy is STILL going I believe, not wrestling though. Remember in Wrestlemania 3 when Bundy splashed midget Little Beaver?? Not even HillBilly Jim could save that little monkey. Go Bundy-mania!
You know, watching the freaks in WWF was awesome when you had:
Andre The Giant - around 460lb and 7ft
Yokozuna - around 500lb
The Giant Gonzalez - he was around 420lb and 8ft tall, he was a real freak of nature, appeared in an episode of Baywatch, he was in Wrestlemania 10 (the one at Caesars Palace, or was that 9)
The Bezerker
Bundy (small by comparison to the later freaks)
Mabel (still wrestling in WWE)
Big John Stud -- RIP
These were just big blokes who could move incredibly for their size.
You know Voice, me and my mates were talking about the old wrestling days and how when we were in Grade 5 (1985) we were all terrified of Bundy...afterall, he pinned Special Delivery Jones in a world record 9 seconds at the inaugural Wrestlemania... the way they marketed him, and the way he looked in that black lycra bathing suit thing, with the pale bald head and deep-set dark eyes, we used to have "Bundy fear" whenever he fought... we remember feeling genuine distress and fear when Hogan stepped in the cage with Bundy at WrestleMania 2.
Oh, do you remember when Bundy appeared in an episode of Married with Children??? Here's a bit of trivia... what was Al and Peg's sirname in that show? - Al and Peg BUNDY - they were named after King Kong Bundy, as the show's creators were big wrestling fans. There are a few little wrestling references like that in the show.

Great handle... The Bezerker was a scary Mofo dressed up in those brown boots and brown hides!
King Kong Bundy was by far the SCARIEST bad guy ever for me! I mean, I just s.h.i.t. myself whenever he fought.
Other great baddies:
* Sargeant Slaughter at WrestleMania 7 when he fought Hogan
* Psycho Sid Vicious WrestleMania 8 when he fought Hogan
* Yokozuna was a scary bad guy
* Ted DiBiase at WrestleMania 4
* The Big Boss Man was scary with his nightstick and he was a brutal SOB
* Andre The Giant at WrestleMania 3
* When Randy Savage was bad he was cool... circa WrestleMania 5
* Rick "The Model" Martel was better when he turned bad
* The Barbarian (he tag teamed with the Bezerker)
* Akeem the African Dream (formerly The One Man Gang)
* Diesel (aka Kevin Nash)
* Hercules Hernandez
Yeah, Ricky Steambout vs Macho Man at WrestleMania 3 I think it was, that epic match for the Intercontinental Title is still one of the all-time great matches.
Oh man, the memories.

Just finished watching Summerslam with the kiddies- best match by far Eddie Guerrero Vs Rey Mysterio ladder match well worth the 30 bucks. Closely followed by the Matt Hardy Vs Edge (match for taking my missus from me) very full on.
Miss watching my all time favourite Mick Foley, what he put himself through- some may try but dont come close to equaling it.
King Kong Bundy is still wrestling--
"The Master of the 5 Count" KING KONG BUNDY is now set to make his IWC debut on November 20. Bundy is famous and infamous for a variety of reasons throughout his career. Spending most of his career north of the 400 lb. mark, Bundy has been known as one of the most agile big men in history.

Matt Hardy V Edge match alot of non legit stuff used plenty of hard straight fore arm clubs but the match was expected to be full on due to their past personal issues. Both seemed to be pretty much wanting to bash the living crappola out of each other rather than doing to many of the crowd pleasing/entertaining stuff. My kids loved it!! Only let down was Matt lost but is fast becoming the boys favourite now.

Michael, a friend taped it and I watched it this morning. HBK carried Hogan the whole match and kicked out of the super kick before hulking up and giving HBK the big boot and leg drop for the pin fall win. What a crock. Nice blade job by Hogan though. Batista power bombed JBL, went for the pin, changed his mind and picked JBL up and power bombed him again, this time on the steel steps, for the pin fall win. It was in Washington, Batista's home town, so he got a big pop. It was alright, but I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Honestly, you'd think after 20 years they'd give Hogan a new finisher than the BIG BOOT and the LEG DROP... I was over the whole "Hulking Up" thing years ago.

Also, the big boot to the face has now become the big boot to the chest. He can't get his damn leg up anymore, he looks like he's gonna stack it every time he goes for it, but HBK sold it excellently. At next year's Wrestlemania, it'll be the big boot to the nuts, and apparently there's rumours of a Hogan-Stonecold feud for that event... Could be interesting, wonder who the crowd would go for in that instance, they turned on The Rock when he feuded with Hogan, so who knows.

Yeah Hogan is too old for the ring but what the crowd wants they appear to get over there. Hogan should knock it back but if you watch "The Hogans" reality show I think he might be doing it for his daughters "music career" (hahaha) and money in the bank is exactly that and then again who doesnt want to hear the roar of a crowd chanting your name even if your past it.
Looks like the Nature Boy is back again appears Carlito and him are going to get it on in the near future for the intercontiental belt..
As for Batista dont find him to entertaining may be big but not good for much in the ring. zzzzzz
More interesting was Y2J losing his match with John Cena and getting fired, finishing with him begging for his job and Kurt Angle coming out to be the new No1 contender had enough of Cena as well may be popular but cant act for shiza..

Beast/Shiv, you might know this...
Hogan was arguably the biggest thing ever in wrestling (as a wrestler that is)...is the guy mega rich from it all? Or was it really a case of the big $$$ flowing to Vince McMahon?

Good question Voice... one would think that Hogan would have to be loaded, given the enormous money in pro wrestling, royalties, his TV and movie appearances, merchandising, etc... but then again, he would spent a lot on singlets and fake tans!

Oh yes, how can we forget THAT mess between him and Vinny Mac... I think Hogan was taking more than his "vitamins".

seriously Shiv, you are a spring chicken at just 30, but you could already write a book about your sporting witicisms and anecdotes.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Voice-- Dont think Hogan worries about the bucks to much. Wanna see the Ranch of his in the reality show (how many 14yr olds have a brand new supra to cruise around in?).
Have to agree with Shiv about royalties ect seeing so much red and yellow in the crowds at the latest wrestling shows the Hulk is back by the look of it. Cash in why he still can he cant keep going forever.

Hehe, I used to love watching George the animal. Almost as much as the missing link. Some of those head-butts of the top ropes he used to do looked friggen scarry.

for a bald guy, George had more hair on his back than a Persian rug.
Ah, don't the chicks really dig that look!!
