Dear Muay Thai enthusiasts,

We Should all celebrate the fantastic news that Amateur Muay Thai is now recognised as an official sport by the Olympic Committee of Thailand and The Olympic Council of Asia(OCA).
It is a great step and a great start for the sport we love and enjoy, for Amateur Muay Thai to be placed in the 1st Asian Indoor Games in Bangkok, The 2nd Asian Indoor Games (in 2 years) Macau, China and there on after.
It is to be the first time Amateur Muay thai will be recognised as a medal sport in the South East Asian Games, Phillipines next year; organized by the Olympic Council of Asia.
All details and updates will be threaded to this forum soon.

The next big news is the 1st WBC Muay Thai World Congress to be held in Spain, 2-8 October 2005. The world rankings, world titles, tournaments, fighters, judges and referees will be discussed and put into place. It is for sure that I will attend the world congress in Spain.

The PAT and WPMF are working together to organise a WPMF World Congress on the 2nd of December 2005 and on the 4th of December a Muay Thai Gala will be held in front of the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. The gala will be televised live nationwide.

Last, but not least, the Prince Cup will be postponed to the 10-15 September because the original date of the 4-10 clashed with the same date as the WMF World Cup in Lebanon, India and Japan. We have a huge team and many fighters so far that are to participate and represent Australia (there may be A & B teams). If there are any competitors, trainers etc. wanting to be apart of the team please contact us any time
on 0413 813 887 or (08)9227 5296.

Best Regards,
Phon Martdee
