Hi Hammer,
i think making it easier to post pics
and links ect would be good.
Maybe a whole new facelift on the format
and colours.

Also maybe register www.internationalkickboxer.com for the main forum site. I always have trouble using other PC's,trying to find sportzblitz forum
i agree with danny.
make it easier to post pictures and i have the same problem in trying to access the forum from other computers.
another thing that may be beter for the site is to put some advertising on the screen.
good for you. get people to pay for the space. cause i go straight to the forum page and miss all the sportz blitz info.

1) I think the facade is good and it is easily maneuverable but my main beef has always been the lack of direct picture posting. This is essential to illustrate highlights from the various fightnights.
We are fortunate to have ALL the promoters in the country using this forum as first stop for their posters and quality feedback; let's now support them by incorporating the ability to post images easily and directly. If this is abused, ADMIN can easily sanction and remove the offending material and members.
2) If space permits, perhaps also a 'members area' where people can store pictures and articles in their own Blitz folder for public retrieval by other members.
3) Sticky threads...ADMIN can make threads sticky so they remain at the top...eg upcoming fightcards, Fox TV schedules. Will save the Hammer spending countless hours posting his TTT responses<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
4) A links tab which has all the important and relevant website addresses for easy reference...eg promoters' pages, kickboxing supplies, links to rules and organisations etc

It seems alot of the new people joining are joining to get in on an argument rather than contribute to the Australian Kickboxing Scene. And because they can do this without disclosing who they are this forum is becoming less desirable to read.
There have been alot of things said which i personally would delete or modify if i was a moderator. Lately this forum has turned to name calling etc.
Personally i first started posting on MMA.TV, then that turned bad, then AX, but AX is dominated by Brits, Americans and Kiwis, I have no problem with that but not many people join discussions on Aussie matters which makes it uninteresting for me. When i started posting on Sportzblitz i was stoked to find knowleadgable people discussing relavent and interesting topics. I think your right Hammer, we need to work on it now to save it from whats happened to MMA.TV, that forum is dead now from so many personal attacks.

hey Kuy (Pinkbits, haha, that is very you mate!), how about also a tab that prevents you pink-haired clods from entering posts 3 times?<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
Just use 'password' as your password, guaranteed never to forget it!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> (I won't tell anyone)

I too think the space for images should be a fairly high priority for a magazine's website.
Most print publications make a fuss when they have exclusive content, but as it is now, the only way that we can show other members pictures is to first post them up else where. I think you'll find that simply because of convenience, most of the photographers amongst us here upload to the Ax's website first because of how easy it is to post a photograph up there. Then to share the pics with the forum members here, they just insert the images URL to have it display here. Some guys will just stop at ax though, because they couldn't be bothered doing it all a second time.
I'm not sure how you guys have your webstuff set up at Blitz. But if this website is on your own server, it shouldn't cost you any more at all once running.

thank you hammer for creating this thread. It just tells me more about what you and the whole sportzblitz/IK team are really about, and that is, constant improvement. So I take my hat off to you for being humble enough to realise others can contribute to bettering these forums and not looking down the barrel of your ego as some people do and think they have got it all correct.
Moving on, I have been meaning to send either you or shiv or admin a message to direct you to this site: http://www.invisionboard.com
It is probably one of the best and user friendly, packed with features forums programs thier is out there. I doubt anyone here will dislike it, especially after getting the hang of it which isnt that bad.
I also think that there should be a disclaimer before one registers which we have to accept, therefore making everyone accountable if they step out of line. I cant remember if there is one already so excuse me if there is, but even possibly keeping it as an intro notice to all users on the forums to remind them.
you could divide the forums into subsections as well for instance
IK forums:
section: KICKBOXING
section: Muay Thai
Section: Boxing
section: training, nutrition and conditioning
Section: Multimedia:
subsections of Picture galleries,
movie galleries,
etc
Section Spoilers and results:
Section: fight nights and posters
Section: Gym listings
section: Q and A or feedback to admins
With these type of forums that i posted the site to, you could also include banners, gifs, ads etc of sponsoring companies who choose to advertise thus covering any extra costs that the running of the site might incur which i think would end up being the case with all the extra material
im sure ill think up of some more as i regularily use many forums
hope that helps

good points Humble,
only probs with splitting to sections is that lots of us (lazy me esp) can't be arsed running through many different types of threads to read stuff.
At least here you can very quickly decide what is worth reading and responding to.
If we have 100+ active contributors I'd say then maybe but as it is there are only a couple new threads created each day so wouldn't be worth it, IMO.
As for Roy's comment, I reckon a hot argument is not what we want to prevent but obviously personal abuse and stupid name calling is. Personally, I think the name callers tend to lose interest fast if they are not responded to so it is not such a big problem.
It is a pity however that respected guys like Hammer, Shiv and JWP don't post here much now due to the slander they have received by a few in the past who are basically not here now. Shiv esp...<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

yeah you can CM...either block a username (as it appears happened to Fuska) or block an IP address. The problem with the latter is that it may block a whole bunch of users.
Once banned though, most idiots will just come back with another handle and annoy everyone afresh. Given I don't think Shiv wants to waste a lot of time moderating fools on this forum, I suggest we learn to ignore those trying to take the p*ss, as they will loss interest if noone pays them attention.
As JNI once said, he only responds to those who supply a valid name and email, probably a good idea.

Other forums that i use have "Private Messaging", i've noticed many times that members ask other members to email or call them directly for privacy reasons. I think this would be an awesome feature to have and i'm sure most would agree and make use of it.
Also it would be cool to be able to post an avatar/logo picture so we can see who we're talking to.

Some great ideas guys.....
I would like to see a chat room up and running.... or have the chat room open on allocated times
e.g monday 7.30 pm & wedneasday 7.30 pm and this might encourage some
fighters to hop on and talk to the fans.
I realize we will always get a " few " who spoil it for others, but they can be kicked from the forum.

good idea Spada, and perhaps have a 'real name' format not related to our Tags on the forum. Either that or a vigilant moderator. It will only take one ****head calling a fighter a useless c**t and it will spoil things for everyone.

Here a thought, why don’t we have a bit of virtual reality gambling (with fake money)? Each user can gamble on the fighters they like. Say for example each user should be given $1M and they are allow to bet on any one.
Remember guys, it’s just an idea and I know some people may not like it, but I don’t care. I believe it will make the forum more fun and entertaining.

I agree with voice, some threads can get quite heated and as such require moderation.
Also in regards to predecessors virtual online gambling idea....another forum i use awards "points" for every post and every new thread started, we could gamble our points. Members can use there points to donate to other members, purchase virtual stuff and enable members to qualify for additional privileges.

Making it easier to post pics and the ability to PM other members would be great new features. Also a new look would be nice.

Another thing, what about making some good useful threads "sticky". Such as a sticky WMC ratings thread. Hint Hint<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

A "links" sticky thread would be good with Gym websites, Oceania, etc
(Obviously nothing that would "compete")

The one thing that keeps coming up, and what has come up over the years, time and time again, is the difficulty of posting pictures.
Mark, this has to be made easier.
I also have the access issue when using other computers.
I cant log in from the home page on my own pc and have copied all the crap in the address bar into my 'favorites' which gets me straight in without password hassles.
cheers
Hi ppl,
I used the same forum program "Snitz Forums 2000" for my site about a year ago, and I know for a fact that you can add a free add-on that will allow you to post pix, my site did. I since converted from "Snitz Forums 2000" to "e107 forum" which I might add is the best I have seen when it comes to forum programs.

hi hammer, have you thought of starting your own page on myspace.com or an internationalkickboxer page on myspace.com? i think it would be a good idea, that way people can post comments and pics, i think it would get heaps of hits, its a very popular way to put yourself out there,

I`d personally like to see what is here now as some sort of archive, and have the site built on vBull as it is so much more user friendly and it is easy to add mods, supermods, pics, youtube and google video direct links (so the video plays on the thread opened) etc etc etc. You can also easily ban, or even better, mute annoying members (so they can post and read their own posts, but no one else can see they have spurted off at the mouth again).
Seems a one step deal to pretty much everything everyone wants.

I think if there was some way to stop ****ers posting under false names and false e-mails would be better, eg. awhile ago some di8khead started a thread about why Muay Thai and kickboxing was sh8t, that sort of thing should be stopped, Admin I think did delete that thread, but the poster said they had done it just to stir the pot.
