Just wondering what people think about the following:

-Is it wrong to train at 2 gyms at once? I work half the time in one location and the other half at another so is it wrong if i train at 2 gyms?

-If i do that should i let the trainers know?

-Also, If you decide to fight at one gym is it wrong to change gym after?

-Can i purposely go to 2 gyms just because i liek the diff training drills they go through?

Thanks,

i think its wrong 2 train at 2 gym's unless one is a KB and the other is weight training, i beleive u must show respect 2 ur trainer and be loyel, ive been at the same gym 4 7yrs and when i leave my trainer i will b hanging my gloves up.

loyelty is the key 2 success.

I want to be loyal, but i live in two different locations, i simply can not keep my training regime up at only one gym. As well as that, both gyms train very differently BTW, i am not going to both at the moment, one is my old gym one is my new one.

EGOs will not let that happen without conflict, unless the two gyms are affiliated in some way!

Hey kickin, if you pay for someone to train you then why shouldn't you train at more than one gym - especially in your circumstances. The fact is that a lot of top class fighters have trained at more than one gym whcih allows them to increase their knowledge. I think the only issue for you will be if you decide to start fighting, in which case you should choose one of gyms only... this is an issue of respect.

but if ur training at the best gym with top fighters and a top trainer why would u want 2 train anywhere else.

Sam, he wants to train at 2 locations so he can utilise his time, otherwise he can only train when he is near to the ONE gym. I think you should do it kickin, but you shouldn't go that extra step and fight out of 2 gyms, that is just plain wrong. Mongo is right, it is your well-earned and spent money, so spend it wisely and get what you can, but loyalty does come into it at some stage.
And keep any differences (in technique etc) to yourself, don't go arguing with any of the trainers, just keep it to yourself, work out what suits you, keep the good stuff, discard the bad.

Dazmon: do you think i should tell the trainers that i am training elsewhere? otherwise i would feel bad

You should definitely tell your trainers and keep it in the open. Most trainers are pretty good about these things but not if you hide it.

Jeab has no problems with his guys training anywhere BUT they are HIS boys when they fight. eg: Laos Toohey has taken a couple of our guys when they need to work on their hands and his guys sometimes train with Jeab. As long as it is in the open, no-one gets annoyed or upset.

Dazmon is absolutely right, you can get good tips from everywhere. Honesty is the best policy and make sure your trainers know when and why....
