Hi Everyone
News just in from New Zealand and K-1 Oceania honcho Dixon McIver.
The Oceania region has been re-formatted to create a K-1 Oceania League with 12 seeded fighters from the region broken into three groups of 4.
These three groups will fight on each show, over three shows, fighting everyone in their group, with fighters being allocated 2 points per win, 1 point bonus for KO or TKO.
The FOUR fighters with the highest amount of points will then go through to an OFFICIAL K-1 OCEANIA WORLD GP event to be staged in March... this will consist: 4 Highest Rated Oceania Fighters and 4 International K-1 stars.
The winner of that goes into the final 16 in the world in Osaka... you win ONE fight there and you're in the Tokyo Dome.
The Three Oceania Pools Are:
Pool A: Peter Graham, Andrew Peck, Ricardo Van Den Bos, Ron Sefo
Pool B: Jason Suttie, Pola Mataele, Daniel Tai, Matt Samoa
Pool C: Paul Slowinski, Sid Asiata, Peter Sampson, Chris Chrisopoulidis
The first official event of this new format takes place July 30 at TRUSTS STADIUM in Auckland. All fighters will compete with the match-ups being:
Graham vs Sefo
Peck vs Van Den Boz
Mataele vs Tai
Samoa vs Suttie
Slowinski vs Asiata
Chrisopoulidis vs Sampson
Round Two will take place OCTOBER 7 in Auckland and will be:
Graham vs Peck
Van Den Bos vs Sefo
Suttie vs Mataele
Tai vs Samoa
Slowinski vs Samson
Chrisopoulidis vs Asiata
Round Three will take place December 10 on the Gold Coast and will be:

Sampson vs Asiata
POOL A winner, POOL B winner and POOL C winner when all points are tallied will join a PROMOTERS WILDCARD for what is now an official K-1 GP REGIONAL EVENT next March in Auckland. The winner of which goes to Japan -- guaranteed.
