Yeah, flashy ankle wraps are really becoming big business, even with the Thai's, gone are the days of totally bare legs. I use to tell everyone to take them off, not to get use to them, but its nice seeing all these colours flash around the class!

hey zdkbushido,

what i'd do is get a normal pair of ankle supports whatever brand you like... but i reckon the NationMan make the best ones... and then get a piece of neoprene (wetsuit material). turn the support inside out and stick the neoprene into the inside front of the support. i once had a fight where just prior to the night, my right ankle was bruised from roundkicking a sparring partners elbow (i'm sure everyone can relate to that one). anyway i did this to one of my supports and it worked a treat. give it a try.

Tao,

EXACTLY how i keep doing mine, particularly my left one...my range is out by abou 6 inches....<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Now I've just got to find a wet suit....lol

Thanks for the replies everyone.

You used to be able to buy neoprene ankle guards, I forget which fight brand. I've been hunting for them for ages. The normal ones don't really do **** for me and don't last long.

i normally wear the nationman ones, but try the thermoskin ones from the chemist. they are dear but are very thick and comfy. (i trained in these)

The Fight Shop used to sell the neoprene material ankle guards but i dont think they excist anymore. I think what Tao suggested is the best idea and probably the cheapest.

I will hunt around and see if I can find any neoprene style ankle guards and let you no if I come across any.
