Gurkan Ozkan is not the Mike Tyson of Turkey,Sinan Samil Sam is if anyone. We respect Gurkan Ozkan and support him of course,I have noticed that people are exaggerating things in the other topic.

Sinan Samil Sam is our pride in boxing at the moment.I was just curious if any of you guys know of him and can share any comments?

Some info on him:
http://www.scandinavian-boxing-rank...n-samil-sam.htm

His web site: www.sinansamilsam.com

It's in Turkish but you can check out ome nice pics if you click on "Fotograf Galeri" which means photo gallery

He has recently said that he wants to face the legendary Mike Tyson,he has beaten the boxer(forgot his name) who has knocked out Tyson,he feels ready to be the number 1 in the world. He also has some championships in kickboxing,he is a true fighting machine.

I practice muay thai my self but I love watching boxing.

Greetings to all of you.

allan allan allan you little groupie. you spend your life worshipping gurkan, you spend your time on the internet trying to convince everyone else he is some sort of superstar, then a TURK who lives in TURKEY comes on here and tells you that your talking through your ass. lucky for you the guy is diplomatic about it. you have been shown up.

undoubtedly there are people in the forum who dont know sinan (i'm not one, i've seen him a few times), but heres a news flash for you this is a kickboxing forum. go over to an international boxing forum and mention gurkan ozkan. NOBODY will know what your on about. So again your inability to think logically is hurting you. you have to do something about that.

Matt your talking **** out of your ass again, that goes for everyone ou idiot, go on a boxing forum and mention Stan the Man or Zambidis, they will not have a clue about him, what are you trying to get at???

You still diddnt answer my question, tell me who has Sinan fought and beaten Quality opponents??? compared to Ozkan whos beaten Changpuek,Paul Briggs,Stan The Man,Scott Bannan,Sam Soliman,Mark May,Dale Westernman ecttt i can keep going, so undoubtbly Gurkan Ozkan is the Mike Tyson of Turkey, just ask Tarik Solak the same thing!!!

i am seriously staring to hope you are still a virgin and stay that way in case you reproduce. look, turn gay or something OK? its for the benefit of society, trust me.
listen, your felloow TURK who lives in TURKEY is telling you that your talking through your ass. xXx do us a favor and try to reach out to this guy, speak turkish to him or something.
beating the likes of bannon, may and westerman must really amaze those boxing insiders. yep. thats what would make him a national icon in turkey. and in case we dont think so, ask tarik solak! allan, i'm dead serious now...are you for real? you HAVE to be joking around to some extent, are you serious? i mean it. were you diagnosed with some kind of mental disability or have you suffered an accident of some kind? i'm just trying to see what's wrong with you, its hard to gauge these things on the interenet where i cant see your face. is there a steam of drool coming down your chin now? can you check and let me know?

Firs of all let me tell you that I love Gurkan Ozkan. He always steps into the ring to fight,he is aggressive and fun to watch. But people who are not into Muay Thai did not know him until 2-3 weeks ago,so how can he be the Mike Tyson of Turkey?I knew him because I practice and follow Muay Thai but the majority of the country had no idea about Gurkan. Now people are talking about him and they want to see more of his fights.Tarik Solak is doing a good job let me tell you.The Turkish tv announced that Tarik is the Don King of Australia :)

Anyway with Sinan Samil Sam it's a different story.Even a 90 year old grandma knows him and prays for him.He is adored by the Turks and he has been successful so far.

thank you.
shame that only 1% of gurkans fans have normal reasoning abilities like you. ah well, what kind of fans would a guy like that attract anyway.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Allanf please dont allow yourself to think that Stan would really fall to Gurkans novice at best legs kicks, he cant even pivot! Anyhow I dont like bagging fighters but I cringe everytime I have had to watch Gurkan fight. Hard looping punches yes but thats it and his demeanour, attitude and spirit is well unexplainable at best. As I mentioned in another post, that was not the legendary Stan the Man that night and it was fight that should have never taken place.

Guys,
If that fight should never have taken place then Stan the man should not have accepted to step into the ring with Gurkan Ozkan. He accepted the challenge and he trained for four months I've heard just for this fight.Gurkan beat him to the ground. That's it.There should be no if's or but's after loosing a fight in the ring like that.

Who told you stan trained for 4 months. You heard wrong john. stan was a shell of himself and dutts is right, the fight was a farce and shouldn't have happened. Stan could barely train, let alone train for 4 months, let alone fight.

There are times when fights shouldnt take place. Do you think muhamad ali should have fought larry homes when he was nearing 40 and obviously a shot fighter? have you seen that fight? it was a disgrace. if you can bear watching it in full then i'll take my hat off to you. i had that same feeling watching a total shadow of stan look completely out of place for each and every round of that fight.

Gurkan would have been slaughtered had they fought 8-10 yerars ago. it would have been a stupid pointless fight, I think we can all agree there. in 2002 wghen this ridiculous fight took place, it was still a stupid pointless fight but for different reasons. stan was retired, old and out of shape. they used his name to fill up vodafone but stan the man never showed up, just some guy who was a great fighter a decade ago. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure this out.
Why did stan come back? I don't know, but he shouldn't have. Thankfully he stayed retired after that.

I know that Stan was at his best in the 90's.But he would not have accepted this fight if didn't think he could handle it.Ýmagine someone who has no idea about the sport and he watches that fight, what would he think?Don't you think that it's Stan's fault to challenge Gurkan if he was in such a terrible shape?

well said xxx, atleast we have someone who has brains in this forum tell them all.

xxx belive me they hate Gurkan soo bad that they will pull any excuses to accuse Gurkan no matter what, even when he wins.

xXx, Stan didn't challenge Gurkan. And fighters don't necessarily accept fights for the right reasons sometimes.
Stan was never going to fight again, I know that for a fact. Tarik lured him back with a $100,000 payday. And a three fight deal worth a ****e load. Stan should not have accepted, yes, but I guess that kind of money makes people do anything. Why do you think all these washed up old boxers keep coming back and losing like Holyfield? Money!
Any so what if a fighrter thinks he can handle it, most of the time they're wrong! Stan never really believed in what he was doing anyway, but even if he did so what! Look, Gurkan reckons he has plenty of fight left and he can take Zambidis. Nuff said.
To Stan's credit he got out of the three fight deal and didn't go on with it, screw the money. He knew it was all over, he had nothing left, even though Tarik wanted him to go on and use his name.
You really have to only watch that fight and then watch ANY of Stan's fights from his prime day. Even losses. Stan is NOTHING like the guy who stumbled around against Gurkan.

Stan was far from ready for this fight and far from ready for any fight. It wasn't going to take a great fighter to beat him, and even Gurkan's efforts (Gurkan didnt look great) was enough.

Well said Tony, obviously xxx and Allanf like to watch and unc-ordinated wild swinging, punch drunk, spiritless and heartless to boot fighters. Maybe Gurkan and Mike Tyson could join forces as a double act and enter the WWF. Hey anyone remember Gurkan getting pummelled by Tibor Vermes? Remember the pic on front of IKB mag with Vermes kicking Gurkan and Gurkans face was all screwed up in absolute fear. Those few rounds truely showed us all how inadequate Gurkan really is, as did the shalacking he recieved from Dendanai.

Actually we should all have sympathy for the man as he is obviously surronded by negative forces and has been manipulated into the person he has become in recent years. That said he is involved in form of combat which has no spirituality (kickboxing), perhaps he should spend a year or so in Thailand were he would be humbled everyday buy guys half his size. A place were if he showed disrespect he would be treated accordingly and perhaps this would bring him back into a realm of normal excistence.

You can say that Ozkan ended Stans career if that gets you excited, but know this his career already had ended.
"The Man" win or lose in that fight remains a legend a true Champion in & out of the ring, in saying this you could say Zambidis has ended Ozkans career, cause as you've seen after he suffered that KO loss, he has'nt fought the same.

You are right my friend, sometimes money gets to people and controls them unfortunately.
I am not insisting that Gurkan ended Stan's carrer,None of us can take away anything from Stan the man,he deserves respect, actually most of these kind of fighters deserve respect.

But we all agree on something which is if we're talking about such a topic,it's nobody's fault but Stan's :)

nothing wrong with making $100,000! no one comes close to making that kind of money in australia, and never will! stan has always said that, "you cant bank ego!" do you guys know how much gurkan made for that fight? if you did, you would laugh!

So how much did he make Einstein?

Merino

einstein will try to explain...its not 6 figures...its not even 5 figures...but at least its on the higher end of 4 figures! now thats still a good purse for gurkan given the amount of bums on seats he pulls in! vodafone was packed that day because of stan, hence the big difference in purses!
