Spot on Kirik, Tarik better put them on!
I reckon Gurkan Ozkan should fight someone who has th same explosive style as ozkan from out of Australia.
And Zambidis NEEDS to be tested. Zam is a great fighter but I want to see him in a hard fight. I hope the baris fight would go ahead and I dont think any other fighter would get as close as Baris. Wayne Parr is a great muay thai fighter but I dont think he could win. Maybe Daniel Dawson would be good!
Fatih Hassan, yes It would be great if he fought smullens!! I hope thats not too far away. Fatih Versus Antonio would prove who is the flashiest fighter out there! I guarantee we will see more back spinning mid air helicopter kicks than black hawk down in that fight! :) haha

dear janer i dont think baris would come close to beating zambidis and for god's sake dont compare the first fight with what would happen now. Baris came close because it was Mike's first fight outside of greece and his first title fight so he was nervous and not 100%. After 2 years of fighting, i think that the Zam vs Baris fight would end within 2 rounds. Zam is way stronger, more explosive, better technician and smarter fighter than Baris. No competition here

To dear ThaiBoxer, dont try to call me 'dear' f a g boy! Tell me who has lasted 12 rounds with Zamdidis? And next point is, Zambidis may have improved but has Baris remained dormant and stopped training? NO!
Last point, Baris was told that he was fighting a 5 foot skinny international fighter who has only had a handfull of fights. Due to this, Baris' arrogance won over and he only trained 3weeks for that fight.
Zam was told by Tarik and Stan to make it a show whilst Zam was in greece. Tarik wanted a great fighter to arrive in Australia so Zam trained like a mad dog. So, I know Zam was ready and he had to make an impact rather than baris not really caring about the fight. I bet you next time round, Baris will look alot better and prove he is the only chance on beating Zambidis.

I disagree Thaiboxer. Just my opinion, but your considerations seem to be only one sided. I'm totally with Mikes supporters regarding just how good this young bloke is, but I try not to close my eyes to the other quality fighters he's not yet faced.
Mate, we'd be foolish to think that Mike is invincible. Unforseen things happen in fights. Yes, he was beating Cope when he got cut. But, the fight didn't go, as I believe anyone had even imagined, and the end result was that Cope won, regardless of how.
Mate, Baris is a big hitter. Mike has demonstrated that he has an incredible chin. But, to think that a Baris win is out of the question, an impossibility, to me is just strange if we consider his wins and KO record. Check out the K.O's of Danilovic, Mcphie, and Duett, that sort of power would rock a heavy-weight if it lands clean.
I just can't see Baris as a '2nd round loss' type of fighter. I'd bet $1000 it wouldn't happen.
I don't think he's been knocked out that early too often dude.
Jenk went 6 rnds. I'd dare to say that Baris's chin would take him further.
The justifications you make towards Mike being nervous because 'It' being a World Title fight would naturally apply to Baris as well. Honestly, you have to consider also that it's very possible that Baris thought that this fight would probably be over inside 3 or 4, and perhaps didn't take Mike seriously enough as a threat. The outcome of the Zambidis Vs Nezif fight was possibly the #1 shock outcome of the year to those of us following Baris's career.
Janer, of all the fighters I can think of in Aus, I think Parr would be best equipped to fight Michael. I believe that Wayne's chin may be slightly tougher than Daniels. I think Daniel is extremely technically gifted. The guy especially under MT rules is 'poetry in motion' to watch. He just comes up with the most amazing moves and doesn't miss an opportunity at all. But, I believe that Parr's power is slightly superior to Daniels.
Guys, take into consideration Parr's Boxing experience. To fight Hamden the way he did after only 8 or so boxing fights is bloody incredible. When I first heard that Parr was going to Boxing, I thought that Wayne would be O.K, but his fight style just too 'in your face' to survive with the experienced and slick hand power lots of Boxers posses.
Again, I think that Mike is a superbly balanced and incredibly skilled kickboxer, but I don't believe his low and mid kicks (hey, take into account I'm not a fighter, just a spectator) have as much power as Parr's. Parr's mid kicks look friggen brutal. They really rip deep into the sides of his opponents. If Parr went into the later rnds with Mike, which I believe he would, those kicks of Parr's would wear anybody down.
I've thought about Zambidis match-ups many times, and I still can't seem to get past Parr when considering who in Australia has at least a chance. Parr does.
As does Baris.

I doubt that we will see Zambidis vs JWP in the foreseeable future. Your best bet is seeing Dawson vs Zambidis in the K1 Max. Don't under estimate Dawsons chin, I can't remember him ever being knocked out.
If I had a dream fight, it would be Ramon Dekker vs Michael Zambidis.

"Don't under estimate Dawsons chin"
Glenn, absolutely not. Not for a second do I doubt or believe that Daniels chin is suspect. It's just that I think I've seen him wobled a lot more than I have Wayne.
Dawson has a jaw of Iron,
My oppinion is purely based on the shots I've seen Parr take in Kickboxing and Boxing. I can't remember the opponent now, but one of Wayne's boxing fights, I just couldn't believe how many shots he took and just kept moving forward. Some were mega. We'd see Wayne wobled but he shakes it off. In Kickboxing I remember seeing a fight where it looked like Wayne was just about to loose his legs, I couldn't believe that he managed to snap out of it and bring it on even harder. Possibly the Parr Vs Dawson fight or Parr Vs Chapman from the first Judgement Day.
I've also seen Daniel take some beauties, and then do the same. Shook it off and turned the fight around and won.

Well done Paul C. You sound like a complete gentleman, your comments on Baris were excellent. I think thats the biggest trouble in this sport, people just blow you away once you have had a loss. Baris hadn't lost a fight in nearly 5 years and after his loss to Zam, I started to hear comments that he was washed up. As you metioned Baris is a big hitter for his size and has a matching big heart to go with it, it would be a great re-match to see. I also take nothing away from Zam, he is a truly gifted fighter.

Baris is still probably the biggest challenge in Australia for Zambidis in kickboxing rules. I just wish that he was a little more active, especially if he is going to fight Zambidis in February so he can be primed and hopefully win.

I recently asked Tariks brother about a re-match in February,
He seemed quite surprised when I asked him and said "just rumours". But at the same time didn't really say 'no it's not going to happen'.
He also said they had much bigger fights in the planning. All this sounds like good news for us spectators.

Paul C, I think the re-match is becoming more than a rumour, after Baris's fight in December against Alexsci, he will be training for -the re-match against Mike. Baris is back in heavy training mode and looking very good at the moment.

I still think Mike is a level above Baris. But at the same time this is the fight game and its very hard to beat the same fighter twice in row so soon. Remember as the fighter who lost is pissed off, as im sure Baris is.
If Mike was to win again against Baris it just show he is a level above Baris, on the other hand its 1 a piece and we would need another match <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
