Names like :-

Brendon Short,Craig Hogan,Shannon Forrestor,Bruce Macfie,Soren Monkongtong,Pixie Burton,Kurt Finlayson and Rex Redden.

Nearly all of the guys have fought each other at some stage.

e.g Preacher has won and lost against Shannon Forrestor, and also beat Soren twice.
Pixie also would have a good record overall against the names above.

Who has the best record within this group of fighters??????

cheers Spada

Hi Chloe....

I am not after their overall records, just wanting to know
who really has chalked up the most wins against each other in the group of QLD welterweights.

Shannon Forrestor vs Bruce Macfie
*they have fought at least 3 times,Bruce with 2 wins??????

Pixie vs Soren
*2 wins Pixie ,1 win Soren

Bruce Macfie vs Soren
*Bruce 2 wins

Pixie vs Bruce Macfie
*????????? not sure.

Kurt Finlayson vs Bruce Macfie
* Bruce 1 win

Craig Hogan vs Bruce Macfie
* Craig 1 win(they have more then likely fought more)

Brendon Short vs Pixie
*Brendon 2 wins,Pixie 1 win

Rex Redden vs Kurt Finlayson
*Rex 1 win

Pixie vs Kurt Finlayson
*Pixie 1 win (Supa 8)

Soren vs Kurt Finlayson
*Soren 1 win (Supa 8)

Craig Hogan vs Brendon Short
*Brendon 1 win

I have more than likely missed a few, just mentioning a few off memory.

I think Bruce Macfie or Pixie have got the edge, but I am not sure of
the results from other fights that this group might have had.
Brendon Short certainly was at the top of this group in the late 90's.

Any info would be appreciated.

Maybe the Preacher can tell us some more,as he has fought them all apart from Rex Redden.

Man, those are some big names. There's something in the air in QLD that breeds muay thai legends. Although all those fighters are great, no matter their records against each other, my father, brother and I feel that, right now, the Preacher is the best of the lot, there's just something extra special about him and I feel the best is yet to come.

You missed one of my all time favourites - on the gold coast - Craig Hogan vs Shannon Forrester - absolute war, Forrester won in a close decision to take the Aust title, WMC I think??

Supermario,

I agree that the Preacher is looking more awesome than ever before, but I can't help thinking that it has something also to do with his jump in weight. Maybe he is more naturally suited to the new weight - he certainly looks more menacing to me. Also, around the time of the Supa8 where he lost convincingly against SupaChai, I would not have rated his chances against Alex Dally, but he has just become so powerful looking since then.

I do have to say though, in comparison with some of the others, maybe he is closer to the end of his run?? This is a genuine question (cause I don't know the Preacher's age) not being critical, but I wonder if he is now closer to his full potential when some of the other guys have still got some time to improve (thinking specifically of Soren, Rex and Pixie).

Cheers

Charlie A......

At a guess,I think the Preacher is about 26-27 years old.

Pixie has been around longer then Preacher... so I think he might be older by a couple of years.

I agree Charlie,Bruce looks better suited at 69 - 70 kgs

Thanx for the info Preacher....

I didn't know that you have fought Craig 3 times.

If you and Pixie are both mid 20's.... its fair to say that both of you will be around for awhile yet.... depending on injuries.
