Does anyone know if Ian has boxed at all since he last fought Kickboxing?

The last Jacobs news I heard was that he wanted to do boxing.

Jacobs is a great character but I dont want to dis-respect him as he was the best in Australia. However, Jacobs hasnt improved for the era we are in. It is a very different fight game name and Gurkan will have had TOOOOO much experience.

Gurkan will beat him easily.

What is so different about this era? Janer, the biggest factor is that Jacobs has been inactive and semi retired for years. Nothing to do with era. If a limited brawler like Gurkan can still hang around in the condition his legs are in, remember that Ian would be doing just fine if he stayed active in the sport.

........and how crap did jacobs look in his comeback? Apart from a "juiced" up body, he had no fitness, no power and he lost most of his technique. I agree that he is a great bloke, but for Kickboxing, Jacobs is over.

As for Ozkan being limited, he is winning, or isnt he? John K, I do sense that your not a fan of Ozkan, but thats fine. However, Gurkan has more than enough techniques to win a fight. Isnt that what matters? as long as he wins, and when he does, it makes the night!!

"memek", Jacobs looked totally crap did he? Yet he still managed to KO Daniel Tai who Gurkan looked terrible against (and IMHO Tai won that fight, if only by a squeaker) Great logic you have. Keep watching guys, Gurkan is not exactly in his best days either.

OK guys, make us all laugh now. You are bagging Jacobs for using the gear. So has Gurkan Ozkan ever used the juice? Show us if your only naive or just a hypocrite when it comes to bagging others.

A majority of them at elite level have used it, especially the heavyweights. Most use something illegal because the rules are not enforced. But why attack any fighter for it, even if in retaliation to somebody elses comments.

Remy I'm aware of how wide spread drug use is in the industry, it's not a very well kept secret, and being overprotective about Gurkan I guess you get upset to hear that, but I'm NOT attacking him for it because anyone with a brain knows these days everyone is taking something to give them some sort of edge. So when some guy bags one fighter about it when the same guy he is in love with can have the same thing said about him, someone has to speak up for Jacobs. Hypocritical comments like that are stupid. Remy, why have a go at me? if Ozkan's name wasn't brought up, I guarantee you would have no problem with someone slagging Jacobs would you? Nice to see you Turks so loyal, but be fair.

John, i'm commenting generally to everyone on the topic including memek. When accusations were thrown around last year on another site, when Jacobs made a comeback about being on drugs, I was the first to jump to his defence. I have great admiration for the man. What i am saying is not to bag any fighter unless they were proven to be on drugs because the majority do some type of drugs and would miserably fail drug tests. So there is no need for Memek to critisise Jacobs, but just as bad for you to critisise Gurkan. That's all i'm on about.

I don't like to read stuff about Steroid abuse either, espescially when it's aimed directly at named fighters. I guess because it makes me feel as if people are discrediting the sport we love.

I don't have a clue on this subject. All I know is what I read from you guys. And if some of the stuff I've read on various message boards is true, it seems that Steroids work, or work better (perhaps I should say are more noticable) for some people than they do for others. If this is true, then we really shouldn't point fingers.

Ozkan has told me that he doesn't abuse his body with Steroids. I'll believe him or anyone else, right up untill someone else in authority over the whole sport proves otherwise.

ozkans fighting style has not changed for the past 5 years!! eveyone knows his style now and knows what to expect from him, jacobs is a very smart fighter, and would not be bothered with ozkan, he beat him once and he would do it again with ease, he my have some ring rust but he is one of the all time greatest fighters and still is in my opion, theres no doubt ozkan has power but he doesn't poses the same strengh he did all them years ago,jacobs for me

I didnt bag or "critisize" Jacobs about drugs. I Just said he was on them.

As for the turkish loyalty MR JOHN K, I am a thick blooded turk and it has nothing to do with race. I follow Gurkan because he is the most exciting Kickboxer within the last 10 years and you cant deny that. Gurkan is a show stopper and makes a bad night into a great night! Everyone would love to have the knockout power as Ozkan and his fight style depicts that of an awesome street fighter. His fighting style is real and Id love to put that out on the streets. I agree he is not a technician, but he is a normal bloke who can potentially beat anyone.

Gurkan is Turkish, but does kickboxing have a nationality? No. Im proud that I can watch a kickboxer who thrills everyone and then at the end of the day him being turkish is a bonus!

SO john K, your weak argument on turkish loyalty means squat.
