Warren Elson versus “Dangerous” Darren Curovic

5 * 3 Full Thai

Not exactly the most youthful competitors in the game, both fighters have struggled recently with injury and inactivity. However, don’t let this fool you. These are two (2) of the toughest guys in the sport.

Darren is a severely underrated force in the fight game, having been in there with Sam “King” Soliman, Evan Themlakis, Dominic DeVanna, and Eugene Ekkleboom, defeating the latter three (3). Possessing a solid chin, and able to work the grapple from all angles, Curovic is ambidextrous and versatile. Competence in the Thai style is far from satisfactory for this warrior, in fact excelling in anything he does is always prime objective. Fine-tuning in the boxing department would see this guy near unstoppable. Strategies would be to keep the fight in close distance, and hammer the knees to Elson’s legs and body, whilst switching and attacking the trunk with his fists.

Warren Elson, having been in there with the likes of John Halford, Gurkan Ozkan and Daniel Dawson certainly packs his fair share of strong-willed opponents. The rangy Thai stylist would also be that notch better if he honed in on his boxing skills. His reach, given his weight class, would see him not only pick apart, but also knock out the majority of his opponents. Elson is also one (1) of the elite grapplers in the business. Keys to victory in this fight would be to move around constantly, and off-set Darren’s grapple attempts by throwing push kicks, and chopping away at the lead leg, following up with strong, but snappy hand combinations. Somewhat reminiscent of Chad Walker’s victory against Oliver Olsen.

Prediction: Darren Curovic 5 TKO (knees)
