JNI's show just ended and these are the results:
Bill PANTAZIS (Bulldog Gym Castle Hill) defeated Brent TAMATI (Blackbelt Pro Gym) in a very tough match and won buy split points decision to take the ISKA State Super Middle Weight title.
Clint JOHNSON (Fight'n'Fitness Gym Wyong) defeated Peter BRENNAN (Southwest Kickboxing) in a prestige bout with a points decision. This fight was under 'Martial Arts' rules where the guys don't use shin pads and can use their knees. This is the third time these two have faced each other with the balance now tipped in favour of JOHNSON with two wins to BRENNANS' one.
Wendy MIRANDA (Blackbelt Pro) finished off Tracey JONES (Phoenix Kickboxing) by way of TKO in the last second of the second round when the referee stopped the fight. MIRANDA proved too strong for her opponent during the second stanza, though JONES did show good signs of ability during the first. The fight was under 'Martial Arts' rules (which allows females to fight in NSW) and was for an ISKA State title.
Chris ATKINSON (Bulldog Gym Castle Hill) won by TKO at the end of the second round when the corner of Dimitri SAMSONENKO (Taipan Gym) threw the towel in. The fight, another 'Martial Arts' bout, was for an East Coast title. ATKINSON was stoked with his win as he raced back to his corner screaming "they threw the towel in!!"
The night was well run, well attended and there were 11 fights in the night. Full report in the next IK mag.
cheers Slyman
