hey Janer, how 'bout Defryme's version of "Mama said knock you out"? that's an awesome song to train to. Although I've never heard of a fighter arrogant or cocky enough to use it as their entrance music. It would've been perfect for Sam Greco, but he's too humble for that. Or Gurkan Ozkan maybe. With both those fighters, I say it'd be a fair prediction of the outcome.

Janer, personally I think the heavier the better. Nothing makes me want to kill the pads more than when I'm listening to Slayer!!! Though if your a techno head maybe some chemical brothers or crystal method will keep you pumping.

I don't know about anyone else but our gym always plays techno when we're skipping and I hate it! It's like skipping to a metonome that counts every single second! my personal preference is for anything that has a good beat but enough of a tune and a groove to take my mind off the skipping. My personal faves are 'Mama said knock you out'(the original LL cool J version), 'Boom' (P.O.D), 'Always on the run' (lenny kravitz). Don't discount your old Dad's sounds either. My old gym used to play classic rock all the time - nothing like AC/DC to get you going! Dont laugh but the song that used to really get everyone going (technoheads and gangsta rappers included) was 'China Grove' by the Doobie Bros! It's faster than you'd think and has that monster guitar riff - don't knock it till you've tried it! That same trainer also used to chuck on "Eye of the Tiger"! Everyone would have a bit of a laugh but then start skipping hard out! LOL!

Nothing beats the good old rocky sound track to get you pumpin.

Janer look for something with a different array of beats and you can then use that as a striking beat faster then slower and mixing it up from there.

Metallica - Enter Sandman
Disturbed - Prayer
Scars of Life - water in my habds
Ice Cube - No vaseline (bit rude)
Rob Zombie - Dragula (Scott Bannan played this once or twice)
Public Enemy - Welcome to the terrordome
Joe Eposito - You're the best
(Karate Kid soundtrack - for when you wanna feel like
Daniel Larusso)
and i agree with Janer when he said:
Rocky s'track - No Easy Way out - greatest song ever written (almost)

these are just few songs to keep u going - hope they get u g'd up!

Personally, I reckon techno is the best help for training. Here are a few of my favourites:

Yakooza - Cocaine
Darude - Sandstorm
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (dont ask me why!)
DJ Alligator - The Whistle Song
Linkin Park - With You, Somewhere I Belong

I think Harls hit the nail on the head here, Slayer for sure. Angel of Death, Black Magic, Die by the Sword, Hell Awaits- I could go on and on (...nothing after Divine Intervention though!)

For Janer's question on training/motivation quite recently I have been in the garden at home, and have had quite a change from the R&B / Dance stuff I like and put on some old CD's I own.
I put on a bit of a mix which really helped the day:

1) Tradie music (really works well!), like Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, AC/DC - simple beats, tough brickie labourer stuff! lol

2) James Brown (I know quite old.. but this brothers' angry!)

3) The Tea Party (good with the Arabian influence)

4) Old Metal, Slayer/Pantera/Metallica/Iron Maiden/and angry guys Sepultura!

Did someone say Slayer!? I used to play drums in a band and all we'd play was Slayer covers he he (quite poorly mind you!)

"You're the best, all around, nothing's gonna eh-ever keep you down...."

hehe, good ****. It would also be good if someone had the balls to use that as their entrance music.
