Hi guys,

Well, most of us picked it long ago as probable.

Well done to Peter. For a while it looked as if Mitch O'Hello would TKO Peter but outstanding effort from Graham for coming back.

I and the whole venue were shocked at Slowinski's early exit. I think it was just bad luck rather than chin. Man, I couldn't believe how big Paul's legs are. I reckon he's got the legs of 130kg body builder.

I'll put some images up soon, mostly just so you guys who couldn't make it can hopefully get a feel of what the production and atmosphere was like., but I have to save the best connection shots for the magazine guys. So please buy the mag, as I believe the next issue is going to be pretty special. I'll let Michael tell you guys all about it, it's something I've been hoping for, for a long time.

We also got a preview of the Zambidis Vs Ozkan television commercial. It's brilliant, the edit makes kickboxing look so much more action packed than regular boxing. It's a brilliant edit of both Ozkan and Mike going ballistic with hands, and that spectacular flying knee from Mike to Jenk. I could watch that knee looping over for hours I reckon.

Also guys, they had these great Fubu leather jackets (Krama, just in case.......hehe for that connected look buddy). They are really cool with a Huge Ozkan Vs Zambidis patch on the back and other Solak and Fubu patches on the sleeves. Very nice at $399. That's pretty reasonable for a Fubu product, but outa reach for a broke-ass photographer/student. Though, if kickboxing grows and if I kept it in good nick, I reckon it would be a great collectable after both the fighters had retired. Maybe a good investment.

I forgot to add,

A huge congratulations to Chris, whom drew with Musashi. Musashi too cool.

Admin,

I don't think I heard anything regarding which of the fighters will go on to fight in Japan. Do you think Chris will still get to fight in Japan Michael?

Hey Paul & Danny - thanks for the round up - I am devastated I couldn't make it - has a family drama come up - but Paul I'll be investing in the Fubu jacket! - I'm just worried I might get 'clipped'
by an out of control hitman who mistakes me for someone else!:)

I was also looking forward to meeitng you down centre ring and having a quick chat - doesnt matter - I'll definetly be attending the next event - I'll guarante you would never pick me - just look out for a dorky looking, glass wearing accountant!!
What happens with Chris now and the draw? does he continue through to K1 or not?

Hehe,

We'll have to catch up next time Krama.
I got to meet a couple of Kiwi Axers last night, it's always fun meeting forum members.

Oh, I want to tell you guys that I'm going to be making a complaint about this young blond haired security guy who kinda looked a lot like Janer. Damn punk didn't even offer to help me look for a good spot to shoot from. I thought I had it made when I initially thought the guy was Janer, I was going to ask him to go over and bully the other photographers and shove them outta the way so I could get closest to the neutral corner.

Oh well, I'll just keep relying on Mario.

Hi guys

What a great night! Catch the replay on Fox and check out the story and Paul C's pics in the next issue of IK magazine. Truly an enjoyable night.

As for Japan, well Peter is through to the last 14... my prediction is that they will put Peter against either Mark Hunt or Ray Sefo as he has to fight one of the top 8 seeds... this way they don't risk 3 fighters from Oceania being in the GP at year's end. Just my prediction :)

As for Chris, well he doesn't go because of the draw but there are THREE fighters who K-1 puts in the final 14 as a result of 'meritorious effort' having fought well during the year... I'd say Chris should get a look in for that and I'm sure Tarik will campaign for it given Chris's sterling effort against Musashi. Let's hope, ey?

As for the next issue of the mag... more details on the 'specialness' of it soon.

It was a good show. I thought it was almost as good as the K-1 Oceania before last. The show where Hunt won it the second time. Remember the uppercut K.O on Peter.........damn that looked painful. Actually, last years Oceania was pretty cool as well.

Once again nice pics Paul C! Fist, Paul was on the back foot most of the time trying to keep Mitch away with front kicks. Paul didn't really get a chance to go on the attack, as he was rocked early in the first round.

Yeah I was a bit surprised by the bearded Auckland. I'm always jealous of big thick greyless beards. Auckland is one of my favorite heavyweights. I know we haven't seen anything ground breaking from him recently, but the guy does have the goods. I reckon the best I've seen from him was around 2000-2001 when he fought Taione and K.O'd briggs. Hopefully we'll see him back in top form again soon. I have to say that Peck looked really sharp though, and would have been hard to beat.

musashi was unlucky to get a draw. clearly the better fighter, picking his shots and rocking the big fella with great kicks to the body. it was chris's chance to impress the japanese, but i got to say, he can only fight one way, and it dosnt look pretty. the guy just cant put it together and look good. 10 out 10 for heart though.

I don't blame you Janer! Traad, I think the show was sold out as there were lots of people standing. There was plenty of support for Chris too and I think his work rate got him the draw, Musashi did less but landed more shots. Mitch looked pretty good and liked to flex his pec's every 5 seconds! Seemed like he had a gameplan for Paul, and he had a absoulute war with Graham.

Wow! Those photos are excellent, Paul C!

It was a very enjoyable night, very good action. The Peter Graham fights were electrifying. And I was pretty shocked to see Slowinski out of it so soon.

And yeah, that female announcer was hilarious. I think a six-year-old Japanese kid, that has never spoken a word of English could have done a better job.

Recommendation to Tarik - drop the announcer quicker than a hitman dropping another mobster!!!
She was shocking!!! - looked like something from a Mad Max movie!!

One word for the MC & Female MC or what ever she was.

"Tacky"

Note: this has nothing to do with the actuale fights, as they were entertaining.

I think the female M.C should have taken some small cue cards in with her. I'm sure kickboxing would have been pretty new to her 'component and all', so I reckon we should give her a go. Perhaps she'll become the greatest Kickboxing M.C ever.
Hehe, I'm glad you guys didn't get to see my first few attempts at shooting kickboxing. I reckon you all would have given me the sack.

The female M.C at 'No Respect' did a pretty good job I reckon. I can't remember her making any mistakes at all, and damn she was drop dead gorgeous. Perfect credentials.

Bill Fischer is annoying and comes across as really lame, he has been doing a lot of the ring announcing for Boxing promotions as well on Fox Sports unfortunately. We'll give Sharon a break as it was her first time and she is incredibly good looking, how about that dress? Breathtaking.

The bring back Andy Raymond campaign starts here.

Pieman,
I have but I don't think they'd be appreciated on Ax.

To get the images to display here, they need to already be up on the net somewhere. Ax is great in that it lets us put files straight on the web without me having to do a proper web page and then ftp them up etc.

I think if I put them up, that Brian wouldn't appreciate it. But, over the weekend I'll try and make room on my own website for Sharon pictures.
