Hey guys,
Who do you think in the Oceania has what it takes to defeat Mike?
Personally I reckon Dawson is best equipped to do the job on Mike. Perhaps even Chapman. Whom ever it ends up being the first to defeat him in the Oceania, I reckon they are going to have to do it with hit and run tactics. I reckon here Dawson would be perfect for the job, he's pretty sneaky. Chapman because he's pretty similar to Dawson I reckon, and he's great at scoring while he's moving backwards. Especially with his rib kicks.
A rematch with Parr would be brilliant. But Parr pretty stubborn and I think we'd more than likely see an almost identical fight, where we end up arguing over who was ripped off. Unless of course Mike landed one flush or vice versa Wayne with a knee to the head.

I doubt Chapman and his glass jaw would be the one to take out Zambidies. Mabye Dawson if his boxing improves. JWP could take him depending on the rules. ie - is extended clinching allowed?

Quickdraw, good choice. He's tough as nails.
Koshy, true about the jaw, but don't forget he's managed to avoid it getting tagged many times. Even winning Judgement Day the first time. He was being chased by Parr and Nezif and managed pretty well.

In my opinion, there is no fighter under 70kg in Australia who could beat Zambidis in kickboxing rules. If fought under knees, JWP is the man! JWP late round KO or unanimous points victory. As for the others:
- Chapman
Has a jaw that you cant miss. And once hit, get ready Hedgcock!
- Dawson
Great legs and elbows, but his hands dont match those of Zam's.
- Greg FOley
LMAO (dont know why I included him)
- Serkan Yilmaz
Maybe our latest import has the goods...
The only way I see someone beating Zam is via a fluke-arse knee...

I recently saw the Zambidis vs Masato fight on video...
I have one word for you:
RIPPED
Masato DID NOT win this fight... and I'm not the only one saying that - there are many people in Japan (fans and experts alike) who are thinking the same.
Anyway, just my opinion... Zambo was ripped badly.
Kudos to Masato who fought excellently after that to win the tourney, and also fought excellently against Mike. But the knockdown was not a knockdown, that's for sure. One Japanese judge giving it to Zambidis says it all really. You just don't get split decisions in Japan when a Japanese fighter is involved.

PS: For this topic... COPE has beaten Mike. Credit to Cope - he was the FIRST one to do it.
PPS: Cope vs Yilmaz this weekend... cool... Yilmaz is a K-1 Max version of Tony Antoniou - I watched his fight with Ono on the K-1 Max undercard in Japan and this guy jumped out of his corner doing all sorts of spinning jumping twisting triple kicks! I fear that he can't knee for cacca though, which could prove his undoing if Cope is on his game... should be interesting.

Like I say, everyone has an opinion... Zam is not crying over spilled milk... there will be more K-1 for him. Life goes on. It was just unfortunate as I thought he beat the eventual champion.
It would be great to see him rematch JWP some time soon. That would bring the house down anywhere.

Mike - great to read an unbiased view on the ZAM fight - although JWP's version of events was different -
the interesting thing is you hear no old bag groaning from Mike about the decision - he will just get on with fighting and come back next time -
hey mike do you know where i can get a copy of the k-1 max gp 2003 on video??

Hey Michael
Who in japan are you refering too ??
Everyone i have spoken too , who is involved in kickboxing and fans as well here in osaka , japan all agree masato beat zambidis
Not just japanese , but americans and an aussie as well.
2 of my canadian friends think masato won quite easily and these guys are always going to thailand to watch and train in muay thai and are not just spectators/fans
As for Zambidis , maybe versus Daniel Tai would a good fight
cheers

Only problem is zambidis would have to go to N.Z to fight daniel Tai as Daniel keeps getting deported when he trys to enter Oz hahahhaha like when he was supposed to fight shane meads little while back

zambidis is the new man! everyone knows how good he is. now the main thing is this...he gets 2 or 3 times more money than all the other aussie fighters and that includes all weight divisions. this is what it all comes down to $$$$$$. there are good smart fighters and there are good dumb fighters. "be a thinker not a stinker"..ooohh i love that line! anyone remember who said that?

Drew
Even people within K-1 have told me they thought Zambidis beat Masato! Now that's saying something.
I have spoken to trainers, fighters, administrators, promoters... but most importantly for ME I watched the video over and over and that was not a knockdown nor was it a win to Masato.
Just my opinion, we are each entitled to our own :)
