Hi guys
Well just got back from hosting the K-1 Melbourne press conference... there was a channel 9 camera there so keep an eye on the news tonight for something.
All the fighters were in good spirits... Musashi is confident and Chris is looking super fit. For once Chris didn't smile... he is taking this fight THAT damn seriously -- as those of you who know Chris know, he is ALWAYS smiling... well, not with this fight. He said: "I've been given the chance of a lifetime to fight one of the world's best eight K-1 fighters and I'm going to give it everything I have."
GOOD LUCK TO BIG GODZILLA! Go get him Chris!
Jason Suttie gave a great speech... he has had a busy year with three fights for three wins and sees this tourney as the culmination of his move to heavyweight and him taking the next step to Japan.
Paul Slowinski did some sparring for the Fuji cameras at Underworld Gym and my word does he look super charged and super fit. How powerful are his kicks! Whoa! He looks on the money and ready to rip his opponents to shreds.
Meanwhile Mitch O'Hello also did some pad work for the cameras but was very low key not wanting to show too much... one feels that ol' Micth may have a few tricks up his sleeve on Sunday night.
Peter Graham stated his confidence and said that this year is his year...
All in all EVERYONE is looking pumped for what will be a great nite... I think it's the hardest K-1 Melbourne/Oceania event yet to pick...
The current favourites seem to be:
1. Jason Suttie / Paul Slowisnki / Peter Graham
2. Josip Brodrozic
3. Andrew Peck / Tsuyoshi
4. Auckland Aumitagi
5. Mitch O'Hello
Most popular final prediction seems to be:
Jason Suttie vs Paul Slowinski
Biggest guy is Josip Brodrozic at 6'8" and 125kg
Smallest looks to be the Japanese Tsuyoshi
The fight is going LIVE to New Zealand on SKY TV, delayed on Fox Sports in Oz, delayed to Croatia and live to Japan on Fuji.
PLEASE NOTE!
The weigh in will be at the YELLOW ROOM at the EDEN ON THE PARK hotel in Queens Rd (opp Albert Park golf range) on SATURDAY at 6pm.
See you all there Sunday night!
