Hi guys i have a serious question here regarding neck exercises...

What exercises are there that can help someone tighten up or get rid of that old "turkey neck" (the skin under your chin that loses its elasticity as you get older)??

Im pretty much the exercise guru in the family, however, i need some exercises to pass onto my dad who would like to, well you guessed it, get rid of that turkey neck. LOL

Please give me your suggestions.
Thanx

barbell shrugs to tone the traps, the traps are close to that area so it might help

No problems thanx mate, i've already made him lose 7kgs over 3 months and thats without any 'serious' training. maybe now he can tone up and get him on a weights program.

Behind the back barbell shrugs have proven to stimulate the traps greater than other trap exercise. This can also be done on a smith machine. Also, if you have a standing calf raise at your gym with pads that rest on your shoulders - you can use this. Get under the pad so the back of you head (you'll be facing the ground) rests on one of the pads, then raise you head up so you're looking straight. You'll need only very little weight for this movement.

Hi Bullet,
Just bare in mind that it is basically impossible to spot select a specific body part / area with regards to weight loss or body toning.

One must just incorporate a consistant regime which the main focus should be basic fitness / weight loss / toning etc.

Its like those who say " I am training my butt to shed some weight of it" but this is unrealistic, as we cannot just train "That body part" We have to train the whole body so in time the toning should affect the part ( neck ) you are interested in.

cheers
Mark
