10-07-2010, 12:59 PM
On Friday 13th August J.N.I Promotions will be hosting a mixed bag of professional bouts including an Australian Boxing title between the NSW challenger Viktor “The Huricane” Chernous the Russian born boxer with over 300 amateur boxing fights and the champion from Brisbane James J Giltrow who has a walk up rugged style and who is determined to retain his title.
This night at the Hurstville Civic Centre is guaranteed to please everyone as it will be staging some of the best fighters around ready to prove their worth. We will also be seeing back in Australia the French boys Mikael and Thierry Virapool with one more addition to their arsenal Fabrice. Mikael the 70kg fighter who last time in Australia impressed all who watched him, going up against seasoned Thai fighter from the Jabout Gym Harlee Avison who spent most of his fighting career in Thailand and knows all too well the art of Muay Thai and ready to show the Australian fans his skills in a fight that will be nothing short of it being in Thailand itself. The long awaited return to the ring of Greg Foley will also be appearing in a K-1 event against a Victorian favourite that is happy to cause an upset on one of Sydney’s best. Our MMA fighters are back ready to ground and pound and pound some more as the popularity of this sport grows so does the competition. There are many fights to come and to be confirmed with another full night of action of Muay Thai and MMA and now Boxing fights of local, interstate and international fighters. Holy crap.... awesome card.
Kurt is an excellent boxer and this will be an awesome test and match for him.
Victor is also a little nuggety warrior. Wait until you see him go like an energizer bunny.
Thierry is tough as nails and will bring it to the end
Mikael is an absolute perfectionist with devastating laser accuracy
Eric Nosa will bring his bombs and always fights to the end!
and lastly heard good things about Wahib who has largely gone unknown but will surprise many.
As for the rest of the fights, looking forward to seeing them in action.
Top card!

LH,
I saw Harlee for the first time in the flesh on Sundayt night here in Melbourne, yep great guy, quiet, and he DOES come to fight, great thai style, and the sak yant on the back is a good piece of work...
He seemed to struggle with range on Sunday tho, was intent on walking in and locking up (true thai style) but Rohulla fought smarter, didn't get caught up in Harlee's game plan and racked up the ponts....
Was a very good fight tho and he will please all at JNI show...
Would also make for a great fight against Luis Regis next outing...

Hi blackbouncer Darkside MMA are at Kogarah and Kingsgrove trainers name is Urosh.
Hi pato sorry mate card is full and I am actually knocking people back which I don't like doing.Probably because of that other promoter again with his broken promises, ha ha when will people ever learn.
L.H. it will be a great fight and I think both boys will have to work hard at it to bring home the win. Mickael's manager here in Australia is working on other fights for him whilst he's over and should be securing them shortly.
Arrh Bushi you never cease to amaze, all going well Luis will be back from visiting his parents in Brazil the day before the show to look at both Harley and Mickael first hand and may even decide to fight one of them.

That is one good looking card JNI.
Bushi,
i agree with harleys style very thai which makes sense given his time in the motherland and yeah i think luis and harley would be great fight i thought that when i saw harley in the crowd of the last JNI show and then Jabout posted he was fighting under them. great asset to the jabout team
Luis sent a pretty strong message that night to anyone in the 70kg division!!

22-07-2010, 01:00 PM
Hi lenny888 there were two opponents lined up to fight Greg K-1 rules but both out with injuries and there is now a Japanese guy that is up in the Gold Coast that we are trying for. Greg has not fought in Australia for a while and would be great to see him back in the ring and he always puts on a great show.

harley avison takes the win[/QUOTE]
Mickael was robbed of the win.
Question marks on the 2 judges who scored it for Harlee.
Mickael scored the cleaner visually effective shots ,scored with countless
combinations ,whereas Mickael received the occasional glancing blow .
Mickael also cut Harlee badly with a punch in the last round.
Harlee has a aggressive walkup style but was made to miss on so may occasions
and when in the clinch was nullified not showing any dominance there as well.
So many times Harlee showed his frustration facially on not being able to execute
his plan whereas Mickael was always composed and showing his confidence.
By the chorus of Boo's at the decision and people coming up and telling Mickael
he won must say something.
So i will post the fight on the video section and let the general public decide
who won.
Must admit I was surprised to see that result on this forum, since Mickael is a classy technical fighter that's a pleasure to watch.

Yasothon - For the record i thought Harlee won. it was a great fight by 2 very good thai stylists and i have seen Mickael fight better then that. i suppose thats why you asked for a rematch? i think harlee's game plan worked well and he (harlee) worked it to a tee from the 1st to the last round. Mickael started to buckle with harlee being in his face and the leg kick were taking their toll and as you said harlee, with his aggressive walk up style, was IMO very much the aggressor on the night with Mickael being on the back foot . Mikhael didn't land any of his nice elbows which he gets alot of confidence from... i even said to JNI that i didn't think mikhael fired but saying that - harlee didn't let him. mikhael is a great fighter and a nice bloke but Friday night he got beat by a more experienced fighter with a great game plan. harlee's defence was tight and his evasion was good and his kicks had power. Well deserve win for Harlee and I don't think there is any need to take that away from him. anyway it would be good to see them fight again!

Yaso- even if Harlee was showing frustration as a judge you dont look at that, you go on scoring points and effective scoring. Harlee could have been frustrated he didn't bang 2 chicks the nyt before...? its all about the judges on the nyt and how they interpreter the rules...

Jabout i guess you are entitled to your opinion as i am to mine
And guess we will never agree hahaha
But in saying that i have had the luxury of watching the fight on vid a few more
times .
You wrote about game plans ,no surprises there as we knew he was going to come
forward like that and were very comfortable in countering him and using superior
speed. Harlee definateley is a tough guy to take shots and not be discouraged.
But when you say about tight defence ,his head was rocked back quite a few times
and he was cut badly from a punch if occurred a little earlier in the last round would
probably caused the fight to be stopped.
As i told you, Harlee and you are welcomed to do a rematch in Reunion ,you can also
bring some other fighters over as it's an awesome place to visit with the nicest and very hospitable people. Let us know if your interested.
jabout
