Flip fought in Hong Kong Friday and lost on points. The full fight is on youtube and I really dont see how Flipper lost.
Judge the fight and let us know what you think?

Looked like a close fight hard to be sure with some of the footage only showing there legs but in my opinion Flip was landing the better scoring shots.
My concern these days and ive seen it alot lately is that Judges think that just because a fighter is coming forward he must be winning the fight. And i think that has happened here.

even first round, irshaad 2nd round and flip looked better in the 3rd. if i had to look for an excuse to favor irshaad to get the win then probably the take downs in round 2 did it.

good fast paced fight though so congrats flip. get him over to qld on an evo show is probably the next step to put him in his place hehehe!

A little difficult with the camera work to be accurate, but if you score it properly round by round and not just look who got a take down etc then it is hard to see how he lost. I can understand a draw giving it drawn 1st, Sayed 2nd and Flip 3rd. It is one of those fights were I could see how Flip could win earning the nod in the first, but other than the take downs and simply looking to strike I'm not sure how you could score it to Sayed. I dont think he was very effective with much throughout the fight and flip counted very well.

What can you do, sometimes judges see it different to everyone else.

What was the official score card?

29-28 to flip for me.

id give flip the first
old mate the second, if it wasnt for the take downs the second id have a draw or slightly towards flip
3rd id give to flip just

flip seem to be utilising more hi lo combos opposed to old mates 1 punch counters
and flip was landing the cleaner shots

That was pretty hard to watch but from what i saw the only thing that was definite was the red corner winning round 2.The first and third rounds were harder to score but if they were given to Flip that would be fair enough.I don't think Flip deserved to lose and i don't think the other guy deserved to lose either.

DRAW.

Good fight - bad music.

I thought it was quite close but Irshaad just edged it in, he landed cleaner shots and was a bit stronger, 29 - 28 Irshaad.

I agree, especially in Muay Thai rules, counter fighting or fighting off the back foot isn't always scored.

Intelligence should score over aggression....just because a fighters moving forward and angry doesnt mean hes winning

I think Flip landed cleaner shots, but the other guy would have gotten points for "controlling the fight" i suppose. Tough guy jeez, some of Flips shots would kill an elephant.

Great fight. I have watched Irshad fight a few times and he has dominated. This fight flip looked to land so many great kicks that should have outscored him for a slight win or draw. But remembering Irshad is Hong Kong Based and a current champ there it is expected that he will get some favouring from the judges. Was there elbows allowed?? Irshad looked so open to getting tagged coz he charges in all the time. Another guy from HK KOed him with an elbow this way.

yeh unfortunately whenever fighters fight abroad, you have to half expect that the close decisions will always favour the hometown fighter

best solution, don't leave the decision up to the judges

fantastic performance from flip though, still looks hungry and due for another big win soon.
