I have had 26 fights and only really lost one to alex tui I was robbed against Mansun Gibson. I am the greatest kicker to ever hold a Mauy Thai title and have beaten the greats such as Kash the Flash Gill, Dale Westerman, And the great Gurkan Ozkan.

Answer - who is Ian Jacobs.

LOL, mate dont get to upset sounds like your about to pop. Sometimes this site lags and you need to play devils advocate to get it going. Get over mate.

it just annoys me when somone comes on here and publically puts down fighters for no reasson.

ashley trains very very hard like most fighters, and has the heart and spirit of a great person.. if any one has seen his fight under full thai rules if claytn collier, youwould know.

i dont like to see people rubbish other poeples hard work on a public forum for no reason. i mean its very easy to come on here and talk **** about other people, and not give you real name.

Sure you might not be a fan of ashley's or might not like his style or what ever, but theres no need put him down.

he his a great guy wiht a great trainer, and is humble and good to talk to as well. which cant be said for every one.

As stated earlier Ashley is still very much getting started. I would not make a complete judgement on him as a fighter by watching his last bout againsted Shannon Forrester on Fox because if any fighter was having a bad night "this was it".

I am not making excuses for him in any way "although" we are all human, and as such we cannot always be as crisp as a lettuce when we want to.

For those that are not aware Ashley was moving house the same week as the bout which affected his training, he also had to lose 3 kgs on the day of the fight and this could affect any fighters performance as it did Ashleys.

When Ashley is on his game he can certainly be a handfull as Clayton Collier from Boonchu found out a few months ago. Clayton is a very tough and skilled fighter and Ashley pushed him all the way to take the vistory under full thai rules... Lets face it Clayton is not a pushover for anyone.

his fight against clayton collier proved that he is a fighter that needs to be respected, that was one of the best fights i've seen, and it will be good to see him fight again, he has a lot of heart

Cyb5 mate you obviously like Ashley and by the same token seem to have some kind of connection to him. I hardly think that saying that I realise he is only starting but is overrated is publicy tarnishing his image. This is a forum where people are allowed to voice their views about fighters. I never said I was better than ashley nor did I say anything personally about him eg family, personality ect. If I think he is overrated that is my choice, you think he is not than that is your choice. If you dont want to read peoples opinions than dont go on a forum. Not everything someone says has to give people props. Mabye Ashley can use my views to fuel him in his next fight, if that is the case than im glad i helped to inspire him to become a better fighter. I wish him the best of luck but I maintain my views. Dont take everting out of context. By the way my name is Michael Koch if that means anything, what is yours? it really makes a difference to me.

Koshy
17-07-2003, 05:01 PM
By the way you could always look up peoples profiles for their details. My email is there. you should drop me a line some day. Perhaps you could even take the time to fill your profile out?

cyb5
17-07-2003, 05:03 PM
when i start publicly rubbishing fighters.

i will provide all the details until then, i have nothing to be hiding from.

Koshy
17-07-2003, 05:22 PM
So i should be worried that ashley is hunting for me because I think he is overrated? Get over it, if ive ever seen someone hiding from something it would have to be you. This is a forum not a fight meet, take your threats to someone who would be worried by a person as immature as you. Your a champ keep it up.

im not going to go into it any further, because it will only get blown out of proportion more than it already has.

im just going ot let it be.

I fail to see your point. Judging by your logic unless someone is a better calibre fighter and has an intimate knowledge of the person they can’t express a point of view. Is a flim critic unable to give his view of a film simply because he could not make a better one? Or if you read a book you didn’t enjoy, are you unable to say you didn’t like it or it was overrated because you can’t write a better one? I think not.

Maybe you should use your head before posting next time.

Ashliegh white is a good man with a good fighting future ahead of him. Disregard this unfair and pointless thread.
That is an independant statement, I have nothing to do with ashliegh, but I know how he fights and how he conducts himself within this scene.

Good post Adam. He is a good bloke and his future does look promising. He had a great fight against Clayton earlier in the year and there was outside factors that affected his performance with Shannon(as Sooty pointed out).

Adam im not disrespecting Ashleigh as a person but I just think that some people were getting ahead of themselves in thinking he was the next superstar. Public forums are designed for people to express themselves and as long as they dont overstep the mark they should be able to do this. How is a thread pointless that discusses peoples views on a fighter? Without criticsm people will never grow. Perhaps some others out there need to relax and not be so sensitive about the whole issue, if you dont agree than fine. Ill let the thread die but does this mean that everytime someone has something to say about a fighter it can only be good? Take a look at some of the posts on fighters such as Gurkan, Ian Jacobs, Mundine some of the posts written about them are just slander.

Hey Koshy.
Mate I beleive you when you say you mean no disrespect, and I also beleive in constructive criticsm. But for every name and face of the fighters in our sport, there is a person devoting a big part of his life to the sport. There are plenty of ways for fighters to improve and 'grow' like getting ko'ed or stepping up, but I'm not sure how constructive this criticsm (below) could be. Sounds a bit like Mondays Expert Syndrome.

'Ashley white is overrated. I know he is only starting but he doesn't impress me to much.'

I know we will never get there, but imagine if everyone could respect the old "If you have nothing good to say, say noting at all"

I am of a similar opinion here to Koshy i am sorry guys. I am usually really against anybody slandering fighters on these forums because i no how much devotion and heart it must take to climb into that ring (which i plan to do in the near future). However i dont hink that he has slandered Ashleigh or defamed him in any way, but merely stated his opinion, which is the reason this forum was created. I personally think Ashleigh White is great and i disagree with Koshys opinion but the whole world doesnt agree on every topic does it?

I am overseas right now and personall i am sick of reading ****y posts that everybody agrees, we need to disagree and recreate some of the great rivalries that kickboxing and boxng have had in the past. We need an injection of real characters to enter our sport and tell it the way it is, after all it can only create headlines, which generates public interest, which creates bigger crowds, bigger dollars, better fighters and a better sport.

we are becoming to politically orrect and being afraid to speak our minds. I love the gentlemen of our sport ie: Stan The Man, Jenk Behic, Evan Themelakis etc. But most of all i love the larrikins- JWP, Ben Smullens, Gurkan Ozkan etc. You never know what is going to happen, what you are gonna see or what they will do, but you know one thng is for sure you will be entertained. The general public of yesterday is gone and the general public of today dont wanna see people beat each other up, but sadly if it is in the form of entertainment then they are happy.

So Koshy i think you are entitled to speak your mind and as long as it doesnt defame or slander someone as a person (which it hasnt) then go ahead and say it. After all i dont agree with some of you views but that is why i enjoy reading your posts and disecting them see how much i disagree with you.

Increase the Peace

I don't see a problem at all with Koshy stating that he thinks Ash is over rated... I don't agree with him and I think Ash is a young man who has improved tremendously in recent times and should be commended as he has fought some big guns such as Foley, Collyer and F16 and beaten two of them, went the distance with the one he lost -- in my book that's pretty darn good for someone of his experience.
I hope to see more of Ash in the future, as I do hope to see more of John Hallford's heavyweight Pete Sampson.
If you disagree with Koshy - THEN SAY WHY YOU DISAGREE like I just have... don't have a go at Koshy when he WAS NOT bagging the guy, but just expressing his opinion.
Take a leaf out of Sooty's book - he is one of Ash's trainers and he didn't bag Koshy for his opinion, he just stated the facts about Ash's unpreparedness for the F16 fight, which I'm sure cleared up some things for Koshy to sit back and re-evaluate his thoughts on Ash.

This is a FORUM - it's all about OPINIONS.

When this post was put up there had not been a post or a response for nearly one day on this site. There has been 500 views and something like 28 posts so the aim of this thread was reached. People need to have something to talk about and if there is nothing happening you have to manufacture something.

Yeah, I'm guilty of manufacturing.
