TWO ON TWO
2 x Chong (blue) Vs. 2 x Hong (red). In a fast paced dynamic display of fighting the Two on Two fight will feature two fighters from each corner on the court AT THE SAME TIME. With the ability to kick either opponent, the team work and strategy required in this fight style will be sure to excite!

TEAM EVENT
3 x Australians Vs. 3 x Koreans. Pitting the best of Australia against the best of Korea, the Team Event will consist of one continuous round where each fighter will take the floor twice. Many upper level kickboxers have had their fight career start in TaeKwondo. I may stand corrected, but pretty sure these guys did - Ian Jacobs, JWP, Daniel Kerr, Kim Loudon, Daniel America.

It is not kickboxing, but would be a darn side more interesting than watching many other sports out there.

Gotta agree with Steve here, after viewing the first show last year it was very suprising with the talent on hand.

Kind of like the tournament in the first karate kid. No Ring just elevated zebra mats , about 20+ plasma screens with the up to the minute scores for everyone to see at the venue. They had 3 close fights with fighters only 1 point apart so for the last 45 seconds there chasing for that last scoring point, crowd went nuts.

Come see for yourselves.

I know it is an Olympic sport, but I would prefer to watch synchronized swimming (Is that still an Olympic Sport?)
Work out what it costs to get your children through the grading system up to a black belt and I know.
Yes, like most martial arts it teaches values, disciplines and is a good starting block, but really all exponents of tae kwon do should be encouraged to try their talents against all styles. What do you think kids??
They need to learn more about street fighting, and throwing punches to the head. I haven't seen many street fights where TKD practioners would get on top, where punches, elbows, knees, glasses, stubbies and other weapons were used. Black Belts with white stripes don't help you here!! Go Kooki Won!!
Have any of the TKD promoters of this event tried Boxing, Muay Thai, or MMA competitions. The crowd must be cheering because they have never been to a martial art event but TKD.
Let's see how many come to Moonee Valley on the 18th compared to the Kickboxing last week

Oh well good luck on Friday Night
