Hi guys,

As the representative of Shootboxing Australia, Jabout is running a shootboxing info day where you can come and find out all there is to know about shootboxing.

As you may be aware, shootboxing falls under the same category as MMA and therefore go under different rules to what now apply to kickboxing and muay thai, thus making it an appealing option for fighters in NSW.

Regardless of that though, and in light of K1's impending demise, shootboxing is booming in Japan so its a good way to feel it out and decide whether you would like to jump on board.

The heads of shootboxing in Japan are looking to Australia for the up and coming shootboxing competitors so now is the time to check it out.

The Info Day will be on Sunday 2 May at 10am at Jabout, Unit 15, 31 Coombes Drive, Penrith and will run for 2 hours. There is no charge for this course.

The first hour will be for all attendees, to run through the rules, and techniques and to focus on the differences between SB and other martial arts. There will be hand outs, video examples, demonstrations and questions.

The second hour is for anyone who wants to become a Shootboxing Official (refs and judges), so that we can go through the scoring aspect of SB. We encourage all existing officials to attend.

Please contact Jason on lapo@jabout.com.au if you would like to attend.

Regards
Jason Lapin

People have been saying for years that K1 is on its way out, can anyone seriously see it happening?

Television ratings argue otherwise. One irrelevant person, with an irrelevant opinion, in an irrelevant market hardly constitutes dying.

As you said HIRO, it is one persons opinion. You seem to feel comfortable handing yours out on almost every post!

The purpose of the post was to show an interest in Shootboxing, a great new oppurtunity for fighters to expand their range.

It would be fantastic to show your support to fellow sports women and men!!

I am happy to support my fellow sportsmen and as one of the biggest Shootboxing fans on the board, I am happy to see it taking off here and wish Jason all the best, he is a top guy.
