If you match them with thai boxers, do you think it will ever go to ground? If these boys are serious about trying their hand at MMA, match them with MMA trained guys.

Jai is a bit out of shaggys league for a debut. Match them like for like, not record for record.

It's Brisbane.

Fights might go to the ground who knows? Better Bruce go's to the ground with (hypothetically) JWP as opposed to BJ Penn.

It's a nitemare to match great strikers & to ensure the best fights for the fighters & the fans this is our best option.

The top of the card will have Australia's Elite MMA vs UFC (former) fighters. Moving forward I'd love to see any Aussie thai boxer become a force in MMA.

why bother with mma then
they should fight someone with mma experience less than 10 fights

It is very challenging to match them with MMA fighters. Striker v grappler at a pure level aren't much value for the punters. More often then not leaving one fighter embarrased/easily outclassed. I just don't want that.

I believe this is the best way to introduce them to the sport & most importantly will be great for the fans. Also, they will have a chance to showcase their best skillset to a new audience/market.

And remember, these are their first fights in MMA. Maybe we'll see one Vs Adrian PANG sometime soon or against international rated MMA striker types eg > Rob McULLOUGH. These things are not far fetched, but first we must crawl.

I am honoured to have them on the show & hopefully their fights will be both appealing to their existing Thai fanbase & the new fans from MMA.
