Want to get some opinions on this, what age is to old to be in the ring?
If the body is still able you have not been treated as a punching bag and you still have your smarts about you and can still be competitive.
When are you to old??????????????????:):):):)

Funny you ask that Axekick.
I had a call from legend Grant Barker and he wants to make a come back starting at my next show in July.
He is 44 has had 60 fights for 50 wins and physically looks in top shape.
Also i just had Amen fight on the show last weekend at 45 years of age and he won.

Kickboxing has changed a lot since Grant was fighting.
He fought in an era of no clinch, elbows, knees.
How about a re-match with Stan?
How old was Stallone in Rocky 6? Must have been 70 plus.
Foreman beat Moorer for the WBC title at 45.
Talking about old fighters, Joe Bugner is having a testimonial dinner for his 60th birthday put on by promoter Max Markson on the 12th of March in Sydney. Joe Frazier will be there, along with Hoppa, Bob Mirovic, Garth Wood and Jeff Fenech. At $250 pp I will will sit this one out.
Bugner is the only fighter to go the distance with Frazier and Ali.
He had his last fight at 49 years of age.

Axe, you know you want to, so just do it.
Wouldnt it be a shame to wake up when your 70 and wonder, what would it have been like?
If your body is able and you want to do it then get training.
Live every day like its your last, my friend.

P.S.
Mat has a AM show coming up soon, see you in the ring

Ahh Yes, Master John is good, but I just checked my facts and Master Yoda was 900 when he gave up fighting.
I think that weight would also have an impact on that decision. Heavy weight fighters can get away with having a lack of conditioning in comparison with light weight fighters who require a higher work rate in the ring to remain competitve, where as your heavy weight fighter makes up for this with strength/power.
How old were you Shaz when you had your first fight?
47 I think...

Mmmm, will you be at the gym tonight Kano.
Did your Mum tell you to respect your elders you young punk!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anita I was 41 when I had my first fight and 43 when I won my first title.
I suppose I was like alot of others who think they are "to old", always wanted to do it but it was Mat who had enough faith in me to help me make that first step into the ring.
I am a great believer in live life today like there is no tomorrow, and anything is possible if you want it bad enough.

Personally,i think you should start in your mid-late teens and wrap it up 4-5 years later. That is fighting at least once a month.
Now before you all shout me down i also will say that you only have one go at life and as long as you are fit, both mentally and physically,go for it.Even if you are pushing 40 and YOU really want to do it,then go live life.

Shaz – absolute champion! Very inspirational mate. I’m one of the oldies at my gym (at 27!) who are fighting but am feeling pretty damn good! – so I should by the sounds of things!

Hi Anita, I have absolute respect for anyone who puts in the hard yards and takes that next step into competative fighting.
Whether they are 10 or 100 it takes alot of courage to put your skills on display for everyone to judge.
And there are alot of judges around hey!!!!!!
When are you fighting again?
