Wow, nice card Joe.

Wat governing body is the world title that Sam and Shannon McMahon are fighting for?

Nader
20-01-2010, 04:08 PM
Hi Guys, the fight will be sanctioned by the WBF, Sam is the favorite to win but we would not take the fight if we didn't believe we can win this fight. Shannon will be a different fighter this time round and he will be there to fight his heart out as you would expect anyone to if they were fighting for a world title. I will be posting the undercard next week just waiting for confirmation on fighters. tickets through powerplay gym

Joe the Thai vs Khmer match up is awesome, glad to see these 2 facing each other.
I hope Chantha has been training hard like he use to, it will be an awesome fight and will prob go the distance.
Anyone who use to go to Im's Ancient Battle shows might remember Chantha, he even fought on a Brute Force show. Very fluid style, unpredictable, superfit and celebral fighter.
But Superboy is the one to beat at that weight these days and he's just so effective, with a lot more experience.

Can I make a suggestion for The Mox; Dane Sky from Spain's in QLD.
(Before Miss Chop does!)
These 2 are next to each other in the ratings, and same score.

Joe, how are ticket sales going and will Generals still be available on the night at the door?

Nader
19-02-2010, 01:03 PM
We have sold 43 tables but due to demand we put out another 6 and have sold 4 in 48 hours. we have 2 Tables left. As for seating there is probably 100 tickets left and generals about 200 left. To guarantee a ticket i strongly suggest people ring Powerplay Gym
(03) 9386-7797. with 3 weeks to go i have no doubt it will be a sell out.
We accept credit cards!

To all you people who have supported Powerplay for past shows and present, we would like to thank you your support it's greatly appreciated. All Tables and seated tickets have been sold an there is only about 100 generals left. Hope you all enjoy the night and as I'm sure it will live up to the standard of another Powerplay Promotions Event.

Great card, will be a cracker of an event.

Jagz taking on Nicole is a huge step up, be very interested to see how she goes. She has come along way in the last couple of years and this is a great opportunity to mix it with the best.

RESULTS
======

F1 - Boxing 63kg
Sarah Howett (Powerplay) vs Dianne Prazak (Mick Hargraves)
UPD Sarah, she looked so sharp but Dianne was definitely there for the distance, a bit bloodied but fighting till the end.

F2 - Mod Thai 71kg
Marc Gelsi (Powerplay) vs Drew Mackey (Numurkah)
UPD Marc, he looked his usual hard-hitting self but the mod thai rules started to work in Drews favour in round 3. Up till then Drew had suffered a bit of punishment but to his credit turned it around and never went down.

F3 - Full Thai 66kg
Chris Horne (Smullens MT) vs Rohullah Paykari (Don Millar MT)
This was an action-packed bout with Chris working the grapple and elbows, while Rohullah relied on his single punches and low kicks. I think it was UPD or MPD to Rohullah.

F4 - Mod Thai 74kg
Aaron Goodson (Powerplay) vs Jeremy Sloane (Sor.Jaiphet)
Aaron had more than half the crowd behind him, and he did not let them down with a decisive knock down at the start of 2R, Malcolm Bulner calling off the count. Until then Jeremy appeared an awkward fighter to counter plus he was unfazed by Aarons power. I'm predicting big things for Aaron, and Aust title for him by the end of this year is not out of the question.

F5 - Mod Thai 55kg
Nicole Brolan (Don Millar MT) vs Jagdeep Rana (Street Alert NSW)
Nicole was on a mission for the full 5 rounds, going forward and hitting Jags with everything that she could muster, but Jags was tough and had her own counters to fire back, but Nic's resilience was just too much and she won UPD.

F6 - K-1 68kg
Mark Mullan (Paul Fyfield) vs Josh Schumacher (Sunrise S.A.)
Mark started off real well, dropping Josh for an 8 count, but Josh was in for the long run and turned it around after the second round. Mark looked tired and neither fighter was adapting to the K-1 rules too well, both trying to tie each other up making it look a bit scrappy at times. Josh really turned it on in the fifth round but it was not enough in 2 judges eyes and the fight was called a maj draw.

And Sam The King Soliman is the NEW WORLD BOXING FOUNDATION World Champ, taking the win by 11th round TKO over Shannon The Man McMahon in a tough, but one sided fight.

Action packed night, and as has already been posted, the BIGGEST announcement in Australian Muay Thai was made... Joe Nader, bring to the fans what they want to see,,,,

DazMon

Bushi how did the fight end exactly?
I noticed that Shannon only really started to deliver in the sixth round.
Did he wait too long?
Did you have fun?

Bushi
15-03-2010, 08:22 PM
TKO Daz, by memory the final one was a body shot, but 2 8 counts in the 11th...(plus a few in earlier rounds)

I'm just saying, Jags was more impressive this show.
She really came to fight, but Nicole was just gunna do her own thing and keep moving forward and put the pressure on.
