Great main event...though everyone is disappointed JWP isn't fighting Hammerfists, this is the next best thing. Valent looks a bit like Wakeling...will be a great challenge.

There is only one fight I can find on youtube and this kid looks awesome. Like Bushi said this fight will be very difficult, harder then the Zambidis fight as this guy has all the tools. He is only 21yo with 83 fights so thats pretty amazing it self.
I promise I will train very hard preparing for this one and promise to put on a great fight for everyone in Perth.
The WKN is not well known here but is massive in Europe, so hopefully if I win will open some doors overseas.

Wow this should be an awesome fight. Theres some real talented fighters in the Kickfighter gym. I got to train along side some of them in Bangkok last year and they cleaned up in the IFMA comp. All very young fighters too.

Would be good to see some of the girls fight like alana ilaskevich? fight our aussie talent and andrei kulebin maybe square off against kurt finlayson or other talent around the 66kg mark. Plenty of talent in both countries.

Valent is definitely the goods. If I recall correctly he lost to Artem Levin in the Russian Contender qualifier, but I doubt Levin could make 72.5kg now. I'm still gonna back JWP for the win on his home turf, but this guy will definitely be there to fight and will fight well.

I agree that it'd be awesome to see Kulebin on Australian soil, although I think he'd dominate Kurt at 63.5kg without too much trouble. The guy's a freak.

While we're talking Aus vs Belarus, may as well bring Shakuta over to fight Boom Boom. That'd be a top shelf match up.

Levin Artem beat Vitaly Gurkov in the Russian Contender final TomS, but Levin didnt make it to the 2009 IFMA final(got eliminated in the semi's), which Valent won gold. I just watched the clip, the other fighter might have lost a little bit of his will to grapple after the Liverpool Uppercut at 2:52. In Round 1 Dmitry threw at least a dozen kicks, that were not introduced or followed up by hands. There was one of jab-cross-jab-cross- low R roundkick. He has low hands with leg kicks, but I suppose with his reach advantage he thinks he is out of range. The most impressive hand combination was an interesting one leading with a right uppercut then left hook. He is strong in the clinch, and his mate often started it, which wasn't very smart as he kept ending up on the carpet. Dmitry's slap knees are in a league of their own, with his height advantage he lifts them high up the torso of the opponent. When I saw his height, I was expecting a more mobile fighter who will use his reach advantage for striking, instead he is using his height advantage for knee strikes (which of course score better). He is prepared to cop a low kick to get him in range to engage for grappling. He seems to wait for it, and counter. Round 2 didn't give me much of a sample of his skills, finishing at the 30 second mark with a jab-cross-reverse right elbow, so he certainly trains for close fighting. He likes the reverse elbow, trying to bring it in initially at 4.16 after a jab. The right leg is definately the workhouse, both kicks and knees. Curious to know whether most of his fights have been with padded elbows, if so, I wonder if his distancing might be out slightly without them. No doubt he would train to the rules so probably not a real opportunity.

Found this other clip of Dmitry, he used the left hook well on an advancing southpaw, knocking the hand down and coming back out. He might have good hands in the catch and counter department. I haven't seen enough to judge that one.

As he is from Belarus, do we have anyone on the forum that speaks his native tongue, and can do a search on Youtube. The russian charactors in his name are no doubt not all from the english alphabet, so it will be hard to use the search engine. With that many fights under his belt, you can bet there are more clips on there, we have just got to find them.

Spano I think what people are saying is the Valent is a very good fighter and a very good match up for JWP. Which is very different to saying that JWP wont win. I personally think JWP will win for a number of reasons, but I have a lot of respect for his opponent. Same with the last evo fight.

I think it is great to see such good talent being matched up against the best. I'd rather watch JWP go to work on a very good fighter than watch him carve up a guy that is just not even close to being in his class.

Spano I'm tipping JWP simply because of experience & power, same as what I thought vs Eli. He has fought heaps of top fighters from all over the world. Dymitry has fought alot of top Euro fighters that most of us wouldnt have heard of, particularly from the Eastern bloc countries, but he has fought Vitaly Gurkov (who is known here) a couple of times in very close fights which could have gone either way.

as far as I know JWP is a pro world champion 5 times . Valent's record is a mix of pro and amateure , and actually sometimes to win amateur world championships is much harder, as during 10-12 days u have about 4-5 fights, than a pro title just one bout and u getting ready for one opponent .

In the end his solid workrate got him through, with a fair few of his trademark punch combinations hitting the mark when required. All round great fight. Exciting the whole way through with the right result at the end. Congratulations JWP!

Awesome night of fights! Jwp vs dmitry was awesome! Jwp had his jaw tested a few times with some massive shots, but rallied back hard! Definately gave Perth an awesome show!

I would like to thank everyone who supported our big show, particularly all the fighters who put on such a huge perfomance in front of a large audience. Thanks to the Perth people for supporting our event, biggest crowd Perth has ever had to a Muay Thai event. Also I dare say the biggest amount of elbow cuts on any show Ive seen, our Doc ran out of thread!!! Big thanks from myself & Blair to my Kaosok co trainer mean machine Predator Mark Pountney, his brother & his two friends, Andres, Blairs girl Ebony, Sharon & mostly my lovely wife Teasha (who is an absolute legend & the backbone of Pure Adrenaline Promotions), for all staying back with us till 6am cleaning up, you guys are true team members and we are blessed to have you guys on board.

Myself & Mark are proud of our four Kaosok fighters, we gave them all hard matches to make them step up & they didnt disappoint- Young 16 yo Daniel Williams with only 2 fights stepped up to take on young star Lino Tak & was very unlucky to lose by split dec, I always thought when you drop your opponent with a right hand its an 8 count??? Well done to Lino, was a great fight.

Hotpants Shearing was lucky enough to be up against Thai Ton Phiniram, who just last week defeated the 2008 & 2009 IFMA silver medallist. This Thai is dangerous, very crafty & has an unbelievable eye & mad head kicks & high knees, if anyone wants a real good Thai on their show I highly recomend him. He cleverly let Hotpants walk in to his elbow, huge gash!

Hunter Adam Bailey, the new WKN Australian champion, wot can I say, his comeback fight after years out of the game, fought at the next weight div up (79kg) & gave away a LOT of height (how did you get those mad head kicks up that high???), stopped Russo (who only a couple of weeks ago beat Jan Antolek in NZ) with a beautifully timed elbow, the biggest cut of the night. The circumstances of what Hunter went through before the fight made his performance even more impressive...lets just say that he was seeing three Russo's.....absolute legend...will be unstoppable at his real weight of 74-76kg & at 100%. Hunter still quite young & mark my words will be a future World Champion.

Finally Dusan Salva after a year off & switch of camps to my gym, took on super tough Frank Giorgi. I thought Dusan did enough to win but was unlucky to lose a very close split decision, our strategy unsettled Frank & it turned out to be a 5rnd war between two very tough boys who were both exhausted at the end. Well done Frank on your victory & WKN Australian Title belt.

The main event was a cracker, very close fight, a chance of a ko either way from start to finish, JWP is a machine, took some very hard shots & dealt with Dmitry's excellent grappling skills & dangerous elbows whilst dishing out a full arsenal of punishment to Dmitry. Dmitry is only young but he is the real deal, great performance from him. I thought JWP won rnds 1-3 & Dmitry won the 4th & 5th. Congratulations to the new WKN Middleweight World Champion JWP & thanks to both boys for fighting on our show & treating Perth to a standard of Muay Thai that we have never seen here before.

Special thanks to the WKN World President Stephane Cabrera, thanks for all your help & for making the long journey to be a special guest at our show, was a pleasure to meet you. Great show guys.....the JWP/Dimitri fight did not dissapoint! Some good hard wars through the night, was particularly impressed with Toby Smith vs Tim Morrision, neither of these fella's took a backwards step.

Wow ,Wow & Wow!!

What an awesome night,my fellow sandgropers turned out in full force at the brand new curtain stadium place was full & well in excess heading towards the 4,000 mark. The Crowd as JWP said after his fight was so well educated in Muay Thai which was just awesome.

There was no booing, just support of both fighters in the ring which is what its all about.
Now i have been lucky enough to do alot of big shows but i could put it up there with jwp vs zambo 2,of how loud the crowd was when the gunslinger JWP came out. The Place just exploded it was deafening. Hairs on the back of the neck stood up for everyone when the national anthem was sung.

Nice touch from the gunslinger JWP in his Why Kru( Sorry about the spelling),blowing out his imaginary guns and putting them in his holster for the perth crowd to view it live for the first time.

The fight sincerly lived up to all the hype, as the promoter from rocky 5 says-''YOUNG Lion vs Old Lion goin toe 2 toe'' dimitri having the height advantage(6'2 to 5'9) and jwp having everything else.

A well a truly deserved victory for his 6th world title, the bling bling ring looks great as shown by the links below.

Darren & Blair you guys worked your asses off and the general media who dont really get behind our sport really did this time, hopefully a sign of things to come. Loved emceeing the show, well done to all involved.

Alot of people cant wait for domination 5 in september with Nathan Carnage Corbett on the show.

What a fight, that was one of the hardest fights I have had in years. Dimitr bought the craziest style with spinning kicks and elbows and they would come out of no where. I almost dropped him round three after 20 unanswered right hands to the jaw but that just made him angry.
So glade to get the win in front of such a amazing Perth crowd. The belt is cool as and the ring was a very nice little bonus I wasnt expecting.
Thanks again for everyone supporting and backing me in the pole as to who would win (no pressure ha ha).

Great to see JWP live. Its an amazing transformation seeing him at the weigh in looking so dehydrated and wobbly to 24 hours later chasing the Bellarussian across the ring with 20 unanswered punches. The most interesting thing though was watching JW in the round breaks. Some breaks they didnt speak at all and JW just gazing in the distance like he was riding the bus. Cool as, just another day the office.

I would just like to thank Daz and Blair for putting me on their show again and also to Tiana and Bill for the fight. It was a fight that I have wanted for a while but was hard to organise with Tiana living in Thailand.

Congrats to all the Riddlers crew on great fights and special mention to Tim who had a war with Toby - he should be proud of himself and will only grow as a much better fighter.

Well done to JWP on his fight and for entertaining the Perth crowd! Its great to see after over 100 fights he is more than happy to be signing autographsfor his fans without hesitation... even after a fight where he doesnt even have his gloves off yet :)

Quite agree Cobra how a judge gave that 50-45 i just don`t know. I had the scorecard similar to you but the other way around, i was taking into account that JWP did pressure Dimitri with some great boxing and more than likely threw 20 unanswered punches. But i was looking at the fight as punches score low, the fight was very, very close and i would think if the exact same fight was in Belarus Dimitry would of got the nod. As trainers always say try not to leave it in the judges hands especially if you are fighting away from home.
I am already making plans to go to Joe Nadar show to watch JWP v Yod, it was so good to see JWP live i want to see him again.

The filming was professional crew under Fox specs, it will be on.....
As for the fight I think I had the best spot in the house, IMO JWP did enough to steal ever round, some very close, and round 4, 10-10 for me but judges could have gone either way, anyway no matter which way you score it the right decision was made.....
My favourite round was 3, Demitri came out smoking to the point I thought he had been playing around in the first 2, but JW to his credit, wore it abzorbed it and gave it back with some.......what can I say just get the DVD and check it out, awesome fight.......

Hey Drew,
I knew it was going to be hard watching the dvd's of his fights, and he proved it even more so in the fight. I think against any other fighter in Australia at that weight or even a rematch with myself he would be hard to beat as he comes to win and has that never say die attitude. He would easily have been my hardest fight in Australia in the last 5 years since Yod. And to think the kid is only 21yo, imagine in another 3-4years when he matures with his power, very exciting prospect.
I really hope this fight is aired on Fox so people can see what a see-saw battle it was, after thinking I had him in the 3rd, then for him to come out fresh as a dazzy in the 4th was quite amazing.
If the crowd want it I would be happy to give him a rematch him as this is the sort of fight that makes me excited to train for.
