However as someone mentioned Serbia are the dark horse, very impressive in qualification and I've had a little bet on them just in case.

Brazil will be hard to beat but I like Germany for at least a place in the Final. Should be a great WC without Turkey to tarnish it.

aussie have a very hard draw, both germany and serbia have tall strong defence which defend extremely well in the air which is bad for us because with kennedy and cahill thats our main weapon. we will have to be at our very best to get out of the group. will be supporting the green and gold all the way, then the azzuri however with fabio cappelo the best manager in the world at the helm of england, and the quailty of ther side its hard to look past them.

spain will choke, they always do they were a shoe in for the confeds cup and choked and lost out to usa. dark horse is ivory coast, great talent, experienced coach and home advatage will take them far.

Well if Australia pull it out the ass and finish second in the group & go through - we will face England in the next round.

Funnily enough - we actually have a winning record against England - including a win just a few years ago, too.

It will be hard for Italy, I am hoping they can back up, but I can't remember any team doing back to back - the Aussies are still novices and don't have the depth though they will make it tough for the others in their gourp and if they progress, who knows - it would be good if Hus was on board - if Italy don't win I am going for the Poms, they have been waiting a long time and what a party if they win - as long as the French don't I will be happy - as far as the Greeks go, they have as much chance as Zambo has of beating JWP

England, nah, they fall apart EVERYTIME. Useless. Italy again unfortunately boooooooohhhh.

I'm surprised not more support for Brazil...I think after the Argies had a pretty dreadful qualification that only Brazil can win from the Americas. They should have a relatively easy run into the quarters.

England...well, to every Pom each 4 yrs it is the same old 'now is the time' cry. While ever they have guys like Crouch or Neville they will never win again...they are about a third of a team short of a winning side (as much as I admire their great players like Terry, Lampard and Gerrard).

Forget France, they are back to barely scraping in...Netherlands always look great on paper until the pressure rises (ditto Spain though they had a fantastic qualification).
So we come to Germany...they regularly make the semis/final so perhaps they are due and they do have a great team. Italy also qualified strongly like Germany.

Oh sh*t, basically one of about 5 teams have a great shot...In order I'd say;

1. Brazil
2. Germany
3. Italy
4. Spain
5. Netherlands

brazil has the hardest group, they will have a tough time but no dought get through. they are very strong and will be contenders but i can see they getting knock out by a strong defence team like germany. the germans are the most dangerous team i feel. they just go about they business ever so cooly and always walk away with the good unless they meet italy their one weakness i see them making the finals along with england

italy as much as id like to see them retain their title dont have the goods at this point in time, because of their manager lippi who is recycling basically the exact same side as 4 years ago with a refusal to bring in young fresh new talent which the team sorely need. if he drops his arogance and selects the young available players italy can be a real threat,

Seriously FIFA rankings are pretty fk'ed up...NZ stronger than SA...LMAO.

they arent. host nation get a free pass into the final and a top seed spot. they are very poor, even with a home crowd advantage they are pushovers,

ivory coast is the dark horse of the competition. most africans are supporting them because the are by far the strongest african team and most just want an african team to finally win one on home soil. they can do some serious damage having such a strong talented team, experienced manager and home advatage/support

The biggest difficulty that 'good' teams always have in the 32 team WC tourney is consistency...all teams are capable of pulling off a huge upset (ie. Senegal vs France) but to string 5 excellent performances together is something that only maybe 4 teams are capable of doing in any given WC. I hope also that Ivory Coast do a Cameroon (1998) or a Senegal (2002).
So forget Australia...we are aiming for a round of 16 exit or even maybe a qf if they really excel. Stupid journos in the paper who know zip about football rating Australia a 10% chance to get into the final...LMAO..."you're dreaming!".
I just don't think England with that team can get 5 hot performances on the trot. As agreed, Germany, Italy and Brazil are masters of consistency.
Will be a great open WC.

yep spot on. i feel aussies dont have a chance in hell, i wish they did with all my heart and will back them 100% in their matches at the WC but the truth is the truth. my mates think im anti aussie and im being pessimistic, i laugh at them and say 'ive been playing/watching/supporting football before they knew the slightest fact about the game' they have seemed to jump on board the bandwagon since 2006 and their telling me im anti aussie. i love my country always will support them but reality is just that

i think it will be an incredible wc next year, i wish i could be there but will have to wait till 2014 BRAZIL :D
