Cheers Mark

Much appreciated. Am trying to do some new things with the mag and breathe some more life into it as you can see... glad most people seem to be enjoying the new changes, more info, etc so far.

Thanks again

I have been reading IKB for about 8 years now, has it realy been that long, and to be honest a little diappointed in some aspects of the latest mag, not to be offensive, just trying to help create a better magazine through reader feedback.
I thought that the coverage of fight reports from across the country were a little poor this issue. I have been to a few shows and heard about a fair few more since the last issue came out, but most of these shows were not mentioned or reported on. I am sure that IKB doesn't have a huge budget and cannot afford to send someone to all the shows so perhaps they are not totally to blame. I personally would like to see a lot more coverage of shows right across Australia. I put it to all promoters, if you are running a show make sure that you yourself or that you appoint someone to write out a fight report and take a couple of pictures and send them in to IKB so we can see a bigger fight report section in the next issue. A question to the staff of IKB do only the shows that pay to advertise in your mag get reported on or do you endevour to report on as many shows as possible.
This is only one persons thoughts so I would be interested to hear what other people think.

100% behind you hot dog
I too have been buying and reading IKB for more years than i care to mention. As a fight fan in country victoria (Warrnambool) i loved nothing better than reading about those crazy QLD ( and other states) boys carving each other up, the fighter profiles were also a favorite of mine.
I can see what michael is trying to do, and enjoy reading it too, but i would love to see more about the show's which i couldn't get too and profiles on the up and comers who fought on them.
Melissa Godfrey writes reports for Rising Promotions which get printed, so i would suggest all promoters get someone from there club too take notes and send them into Michael.
Keep up the good work IKB (it's easy for us too pick faults, after all i am perfect HeHe!!!)

I would like to see a couple of pages put aside specifically for fight night resaults. I'm shure IK is not physically able to do full coverage of every show put on in Australia, New Zealand. But at least this way we could all keep track of whats going on and it's allways good for an up and commer to see his name in a magazine. What do you guys think.

You know what,

I honestly prefer the new format, but I can understand where you guys are coming from.

And I guess this only occured to me because I missed the last solak show and was looking forward to reading the report and seeing the pics in Kickboxer.

I guess I thought that I'd get enough of what I was after on the net, but I don't know, it's just not the same not having the big fights reported with as much detail as before.
To explain what I mean, you'd have to look at the difference between the coverage of 'No Respect' and that of 'Licenced to Thrill'. I would have loved to have seen some more pictures as we had none on the net at all. Only 2 pics left me feeling a little, I dunno.

I think in this edition of Kickboxer, that I had a record number of pictures published for me, so this isn't an ego thing, plus the images I wanted to see were by Lucas.

JMHO

I think I'm asking for more pages.
120 would be cool.
But, I do like the new format, because I now end up reading absolutely everything in the mag.

Thanks for the feedback guys

Yeah due to some problems the fight reports last issue weren't up to par... will rectify this.

Paul made a good point... that is what I am aiming for in the magazine, for people to want to read EVERY PAGE instead of skipping sections which I feel happened in the past.

Thanks for the feedback again... trying to make each issue better.

Good to see some constructive criticism without anybody getting offended.
I think we need more people like Melissa who are prepared to sacrifice a little of there own time to write a fight report and send it in. There is a challenge for all the other promoters out there to find someone to do the same for your shows.
Good point made by Paul C that most of the fight results are now on the net, but a lot of fights are still not reported on. 120 new pages, I think that you have just put all the IKB staff on overtime.
Ah if only we could all be perfect like the Wrecka, what a better society we would all be living in.
