Pac-man with ease. I've had the chance to speak with Freddie over the years both before and after pac arrived and he is clearly getting the best out of him. The big battle with Pac is keeping his mind on the job these days and not on the side show that his life has become. Despite how Freddie plays the media he knows when to turn his fighters on for the final prep and get them ready.
I would be shocked if Cotto won and I'd be suprised if it went the distance. None the less Pac always makes for an entertaining fight. Cotto is very very good, but Pac is great. And that will be the difference.

Pac-man will again prove he is the best P4P boxer ( may be even fighter in any style ) in the world today. He will have way too much speed and power for Cotto, especially now he has a few extra weapons Freddie Roach has helped develop. ( powerful hooks in both hands for one)
Freddie Roach is the best boxing trainer in the world IMO.He is a master of picking up flaws in opposing fighters techniques and finding a way to expose them. I think you will find the master tactician would have worked out a way to expose Cotto and Manny will cut him to pieces.
Next stop for Pac is Mayweather, I think the only real test left for him. Now that will be a Superfight !
Pacquiao vs Cotto , Pacquiao by stoppage 7th round.

Hey Hunter,
Managing and monitoring the trainin a fighter that was trained by Freddie on a fly in basis. As you would know not all Freddie's fighters spend their whole time at WildCard.
As Ausmat said he is amazing at picking the holes in fighters who are supposedly the complete package. He trains in a very particular style and has very definite rules on what is and isnt a good way of fighting. I've heard people say a blind monkey could train Pac. But that is just crap, Freddie gets back to basics and rebuilds guys to remove any and all flaws from their style.
Cotto is a very good fighter, his record is extremely good, even better when you consider how he suffered his loss. But Pac is just a class above the rest and we will see that on display.

Hey Hunter, Pac only has a few fights left in his career and they will be well spaced out. So it is definately a possibility that it can happen as Freddie's time is freed up. Training Pac is nearly a full time job on its own lol
It would be great to get Freddie out here, I honestly dont know how much interest there would be (something others could fill me in on), but would be very good for trainers and fighters alike to have a listen to him speak and the way he sees thing and possibly look at some fighters. But the trainers would need to check their ego's LOL Fred loves to drop the F bomb
Cheers
Hey Chicano, Is Justin Fortune still pacmans conditioning coach.(& Freddy's?)

No doubt, the Pacman didn't seemed phased and any time.
Good sparring session, he even allowed Cotto (which im also a fan of) take a turn.
Good boxing good fighting, question is:
will Mayweather come out and accept the challenge???

Great performance by Pac. Dominated a great fighter in Cotto who had only lost once before to a cheat. Some wonderful Freddie Roach signature combo's were landed and many of the times Cotto looked like he was landing was simply some of the set up work that Pac and Freddie have been working on.
Great effort though by Cotto, a lesser man would have gone down much earlier and it is a credit to what a fighter he is to have been part of a great fight, to battle away when lesser fighters would have been on their arse in the first.
Freddie wants the Mayweather fight more than life itself. If the challenge is accepted and Pac is not the Filo President by then lol it will be one of the great fights of all time.

The Foxsports link has some footage of the bout.
The Pacman, with 7 titles in 7 divisions, and no-one has done that before. What a trainer Freddie Roach is.
Elsewhere, in the UK yesterday local fighter Lovemore Ndou retained his IBO welterweight title with a draw against Matthew Hatton (Ricky Hatton's brother).

To bad they didn't let him continue, could have won some coin. Felt bad after two knockdowns let alone getting just shy of a decision.
Very good job from Cotto for weathering the storm and taking so many hits. Pacquiao was too strong.

Same here could have won some good money had it not been for the stopagge, it was overdue though so I couldn't really be too disapointed, still he could have hung on for 2 more bloody minutes, hah. I thought it would be pretty hard for pacquaio to put cotto down, I didn't think enough people were giving him a chance, in the end he didn't really have anything but a punchers chance but he did put up one hell of a fight in the process. What a fight, first couple of rounds started off so well with cotto looking like he might be good for the upset, all that was quickly put to rest though. So what now for cotto his face looked nearly as bad as it did after the margarito fight, maybe his injuries from that fight didn't have enough time to compleatly heal, Who knows. Pacmans the man though and I already can't wait for the mayweather fight, I do however think mayweather will win.

You're right about Cotto in that the injuries he suffered in his last fight may not have fully healed and may never. The nameless cheat who he "lost" is a gutless wonder and while cotto was never going to beat Pac, I think those old facial injuries had clearly flared up for cotto toward the end of the fight. This in my book is Cotto's only loss so he has an amazing record. But what he wants to do from here is hard to know.
Mayweather will accept, especially if snr is in his ear enough and I would be so bold as to say Pac will win that one too. Freddie will be giving it to snr something fierce to try and make it happen and the build up will be like a presidential race and the fight one of the greatest ever. So let us hope it happens.
And it would be Pac's last fight too.

wasn't Lovemore Ndou based in and fighting out of Australia in the mid 90's?

Manny Pacquiao just won his 7th world title in 7 weight categories, but what's more incredible is that it would've been 9 if he didn't skip a couple. Props to Miguel Cotto, I think he could've made to the final bell, he took much harder shots than the one that prompted the ref stoppage. I think Miguel will come back strong, he is only 29 and has more fights left in him than Pacquiao. I wouldn't want him to rematch Manny, but I think he could beat Margarito in a rematch. Money vs Pacman will be amazing. Lastly, if you guys caught the Daniel Santos vs Yuri Foreman WBA super-welterweight title bout that Yuri won by UPD; it is VERY possible that Manny could add an 8th title in 8 categories if he chose to. However, there are obviously wealthier fish to fry...

I just can't believe how easily Pac did it. In the first round I thought jeez, Cotto's fighting smart and Pac seems reluctant to get in there because of Cott's power then bloody hell, Pac just cranks up the pace. Can't believe Pac was calling Cotto on and taunting him.
I feel so bad for Cotto though. His face looked horrible. So much pride to keep going like that. F*ck Margarito.
I'm a massive Pac fan but as good as Pac's latest wins have been, they've always been against guys who've shown a weakness. Delahoya (Freddie knew he was old), Hatton and Cotto after they had been stopped and didn't look invincible anymore.
Still picking Mayweather based on Marquez's counterpunching success against Pac but rooting for Pac though.

Well , the fight went exactly how i predicted except for the 7th round KO. Pac took it easy in the first round , getting a feel for Cotto's power. Once he realized that Cotto didnt have a chance to hurt him ... Welcome to the Manny show.
Respect for Cotto for lasting as long as he did , but it was disappointing to see a man like him back pedaling from the 4th round on. I feel the fight could have been stopped a lot earlier giving the damage to Cotto's face. No one deserves to cop a beating like that when he had no chance of beating Pacquiao. Pacquiao looked frustrated the last 3 rounds because Cotto wasnt mounting a challenge. He was moving into dangerous territory of a serious brain injury which no one likes to see.
Congrats to Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao for another very impressive outing.
I feel Pacquiao has the goods too defeat Mayweather. Mayweather is fast and a great counter puncher but you cant hit what is not there ! ...
Again Roach will have a plan for exposing Mayweather , and one of the biggest fights in Boxing history will go to the way of Pacquiao , I predict by KO aswell !
