Lewis stops Klitschko on cut!
By Francisco Salazar and Willian Trillo at ringside
In a very exciting fight, heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis scored a TKO at the end of round six over Vitali Klitschko at the Staples Center in Los Angeles when the ring doctor ruled Klitschko could not continue due to a bad cut over his left eye. Klitschko staggered Lewis in round two, but Lewis came out aggressively in round three and opened a bad cut over Klitschko's eye. Klitschko fought on bravely and had compiled a 58-56 on all cards when Dr. Paul Wallace told referee Lou Moret to stop the fight after the sixth. Klitschko was furious at the stoppage and stated after the fight that he could see fine out of the injured optic and doesn't know why the fight was stopped.

Just my view but I think Lewis is overrated.

"Seriously, What the HELL did you expect?"
Your quick to jump on Janer, hehe.
The cut was really bad. Nobody want's a fight to end on cuts, but that's part of the fight game. Lewis is getting close to the end, but I give lewis credit for taking some big shots and not going down. He kept coming, Vitali gave it a good go, but I still think Lewis would have won if the ref let it continue.

Vitali was on the right path to beat the WORLDS BEST HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTER... Why wouldnt I be on the band wagon? Both his losses were to Chris Byrd and Lennox Lewis where he was up on points in both fights.
I have seen many of his fights, this just capped it off! Remy, did I really have to explain why!?! lol

Lewis is still the man :P been in the big time for a long time now. He should retire this year though while he still rules the heavyweight division. He should give Vitali a rematch or fight Roy Jones which is a posibility, that's if Roy fights and beats Evander. Then Lewis should retire and stay retired. That's the key for these boxers to stay retired and go out at the right time.

I have been a huge Lewis fan for sometime, and was very concerned of this fight for 2 reasons.
(A) His weight being the most ever in his career, and
(B) 2 weeks notice to fight a different and more powerfull guy.
I hope they do a rematch which I expect due to public demand. Although Lewis has been my favourite for years, I was very disappointed as he looked so sluggish and tired - a shadow compared to the guy who man-handled Tyson for 8 rounds last year!
On the other hand, I've followed the 2 brothers for about 2 odd years, and knew they were going to be a great threat to the heavyweight boxing scene. Cant wait for Wladimirs next fight !! (Vitalis younger brother)
(Hey Janer how are you! Finally have finished my course at last!! Back at last!!)

i reckon vitali would have won if the fight went the distance. i was surprised that lewis still didnt give him good credit other than:
"he is the number one contender - its mandatory i gave him a shot"
if you watched the fight closely you would have seen that lewis was fighting dirty - grabbing on with the left hand and pounding at the body - when the referee couldnt see it.
klitschko is a great fighter - lewis smacked him hard with an uppercut and he just stood there and threw more punches. i hate it how lewis underestimates his opponents and doesnt train properly - i.e. hasim rahman and perhaps klitschko. the next time vitali and lennox fight - vitali will become champion!
also - lewis stated before the vitali fightthat when he gets thru vitali, he would like to either rematch tyson or fight roy jones for the wba title
