The Big Boys Are Back!

Australia's heavy fighters

In the last couple of years, Australia, and in-fact the rest of the fighting world has seen a severe lack in the heavy and super-heavyweight markets. Once upon a time, all the biggest and best fighters in the world were the heavyweights, all of the biggest draws were heavyweights, and it was always the number-one division.

For a while though the heavyweights started to disappoint and the lightweights started to demonstrate they could put on a show better than anyone. If you take a look around the world, you see that lighter guys have become the big draws. Guys like Georges St-Pierre, Manny Pacquiao, Wayne Parr, Floyd Mayweather Jnr, BJ Penn, Masato... the list goes on.

However, thanks to efforts of some, the big boys are back. Again, all over the world we are beginning to see the resurgence of the heavier weight divisions and their rise back to the top of the cards. Guys like Brock Lesnar, the Klitschko brothers, Semmy Schilt, Fedor and also our own boys at home are now on the rise. With Peter Graham back in the country and Nathan Corbett threatening to turn heavyweight full time, our own heavyweight divisions are back and firing on all cylinders.

Here we take a look at just a few of the bigger sharks swimming around in the Australian heavy pool.
